An overnight curfew has been imposed in the Indian Ocean nation of Comoros, the country’s interior ministry said, after violent protests spread in light of President Azali Assoumani's re-election that was denounced by the oppositon. Security forces fired tear gas to disperse the protesters in Moroni on Wednesday, and crowds were still on the streets in the north of the capital in the early hours of Thursday.
