Islamist militants freed scores of kidnapped Nigerian schoolgirls back in the town, where they had been captured a month ago. These Nigerian schoolgirls are now safe back home, after they were kidnapped over a month ago by Boko Haram. They were dropped off in Dapchi town from the militant group's vehicles. Around 110 girls were kidnapped in February and the Dapchi residents say more than 100 returned on Wednesday. It's the biggest mass abduction since Boko Haram took over 270 schoolgirls from the town Chibok in 2014.

In this edition: outrage over an NGO's campaign slogan supporting the Nigerian president; students in the US protest new school lunch guidelines; and an Amish community build a barn in record time.

SLOGAN SUPPORTING NIGERIAN PRESIDENT SPARKS OUTRAGE ONLINE
A NGO campaigning for Nigeria's current head of state Goodluck Jonathan to be re-elected for a new term in office at next year`s February 15th presidential election have sparked outrage with their campaign slogan: “Bring Back Goodluck 2015”. It is of course a reference to the #bringbackourgirls hashtag started back in April following the kidnapping of over 200 school girls by militant Islamist group Boko Haram, and it has stirred up lively reactions online.
Hundreds have taken to Twitter and Facebook slamming the choice of words, saying the slogan is particularly insensitive and in very poor taste. A lot of Nigerian web users are saying trying to secure Goodluck Jonathan`s re-election on the back of a national tragedy is both absurd and stupid. Social networkers hope the massive backlash will prompt the NGO behind the campaign to rethink its communication strategy immediately.
And while a lot of web users in Nigeria have been left shocked by the use of a #bringbackourgirls inspired political slogan, as this article on the 360nobs site points out, it`s not a first in Nigeria. The governor for the state of Oyo, Alao Akala, has reportedly adopted the “Bring back our man” slogan in his bid for re-election and the governor for Imo, Ikedi Ohakim, has chosen “bring back Ohakim” to try and win over voters ahead of next February`s election.
USA: STUDENTS PROTEST SCHOOL LUNCH GUIDELINES
Students in the US returning to school after the summer vacatio...
