It's wonderful finally being able to be on the ground and see the work that was put in while you were away.

After many years in the diaspora and starting to think of retirement back home ,we ,(my wife and I) started to brainstorm different ideas.

We settled on free range organic chicken farming! 🥚🐣🐓😍. We will also grow organic vegetables.

We have lived in the United Kingdom for just over 20 years with our five children who were all home educated.

While living in the U.K we became very aware of food standards because food was not the same as what we had left behind.

Very early on we started buying organic food and wild fish. We would like to continue on this path of healthy eating and growing our own food.

The chickens will be pasture raised. We are implementing a permaculture farming method.

We will also be using the regenerative agriculture approach to help the soils get all the necessary nutrients.

We bought the land which had lots of gum trees which took a lot of nutrients out of the soil. We need to add these back using the regenerative agriculture approach.

We will use this platform to share information we learn along the way.

There was a pond on the farm which has dried out but we need to revive it as part of permaculture farming.

What is permaculture?

It involves taking care of the earth and working with it. We will be using systems like rain capture and solar systems. Trying to be off grid as much as possible.

MUSINA, South Africa, 22 January 2009 A humanitarian crisis is unfolding in the South African border town of Musina. Historically the transit point for migrants seeking work in the countrys larger cities, it has now become the entry point for many desperate Zimbabweans fleeing the economic and social collapse in their country.

UNICEF Executive Director Ann Veneman recently visited the area, touring the towns showgrounds, the first stop for many who cross the border seeking asylum. With 300 permits granted a day, the facility has become a makeshift camp for thousands of waiting migrants.

On our visit we have been looking at the issue of people coming in from Zimbabwe, waiting for their papers, Ms. Veneman said after being briefed by the local authorities and speaking with asylum seekers. Weve had a chance to talk to many of the mothers who have children here about why theyre coming here, and its looking for a better life.

With support from UNICEF, Save the Children has set up a safe space in Musina for mothers with young children. It provides them with food, toys and a place to wait while their papers are processed by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

This is a slightly shortened version of the original report.

What can the Front-Line States do to protect themselves in the economic war South Africa is waging against them? By blocking other routes. South Africa forces 75% of their trade through its ports. The battle is on to change that balance of power.
THIS WEEK traveled down the Beira Corridor where thousands of Zimbabwean troops guard the vital two hundred miles of railroad and pipeline between their boarder and the coast of Beira. The corridor is subject to attacks from the “bandidos”, the South African backed MNR or Renamo who are trying to destabilize the already collapsing Mozambique. At the end of the corridor Beira has desperate problems. No power for three months, no water for three weeks and an economy so out of control that one man’s wages for a week will buy a couple of cabbages.

He stays in the UK. But building an EMPIRE in Africa Zimbabwe

Boina123
0 Views · 9 months ago

The political crisis between the Zimbabwe military and President Robert Mugabe has caused a stir among Zimbabweans who have left their country in the past because of political persecution and economic factors, making their way to neighbouring South Africa.

Some say that they are "tired" of being foreigners and are hopeful that the recent developments mean they can finally go home.

Others remain sceptical and believe that the crisis will potentially bring new corrupt leaders that will look after the interests of the elite only.

They hope that power will be transferred to the people so that they, not the military or politicians, can determine their future leaders.

Why the Zimbabwe coup is not a revolution.

Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO

On November 14th 2017, Zimbabwe military troops drove tanks into the capital city, Harare. They patrolled the streets, blocked access to government buildings, and took over the state television station to insist….
This is not a military takeover of government.

Once praised as a war hero, Robert Mugabe helped Zimbabwe win independence from Great Britain in 1980. He became president under Zimbabwe’s new constitution with the support of the people.

But soon, he digressed into a repressive dictator.

He secured his power through aggression and threats, there have been reports of state-sponsored torture and killings.

And even though Zimbabwe is technically a democracy, there’s evidence Mugabe rigged elections in his favor.

Now that Mugabe is 93 years old, and reportedly in poor health, the fight for political influence is more important than ever.

And it’s caused a split in Mugabe’s own party, the ZANU-PF.
On one side we have the old guard lead by Mugabe’s sacked vice-president Emmerson Mnangagwa. Like Mugabe, he fought for Zimbabwe’s independence and has a checkered past that includes human rights abuses against political opponents and ethnic minorities.

10 Things you didn’t know about Zimbabwe
Welcome to Displore and Thanks for watching, in today’s video, Qs you already know displorers, it’s always a pleasure presenting to you some lesser known but interesting facts about the beautiful countries on the African continent, In this video we are looking at the historic country of Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe, officially the Republic of Zimbabwe, formerly Rhodesia, is a landlocked country located in the southern part ofAfrica, between the Zambezi and Limpopo Rivers, bordered by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the southwest, Zambia to the northwest and Mozambique to the east. The capital and largest city is Harare. A country of about 16 million people, Zimbabwe has 16 official languages, with English, Shona, and Ndebele the most common. The country is widely known for its diverse wildlife and magnificent landscapes. The Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River is a major thrill among the tourists who visit Zimbabwe. Exotic birdlife, flora and fauna, highland mountains and flowing rivers remarkably boost the beauty of the country. Its current president is Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa who was officially inaugurated as the third President of Zimbabwe on 26 August 2018 after winning the 2018 Zimbabwean general election.
If you are new here welcome, be sure to subscribe and turn on notification so you don’t miss any of our videos.
Let’s dive in and take a look at 10 things you didn’t know about Zimbabwe.
1. It is illegal in Zimbabwe for the police to impound your vehicle on the road.
It is illegal for police officers to impound cars on Zimbabwean roads except when there are special circumstances where the driver of the vehicle is asked to produce their driver’s license, human rights lawyer Kennedy Masiye has said.”The only time they can impound a vehicle is, as empowered by Section 74 of the Road Traffic Act, where an officer demands a driver’s license and they can detain the car for a maximum of 24 hours,” Masiye said. “After 24 hours, the driver can still collect their vehicle before producing a driver’s license and they are given at least seven days to produce the license.”
Masiye said besides that, there was no provision for police officers to impound vehicles as there were fines that go with various offences including defective vehicles.
He said it was also illegal for officers to force motorists to pay spot fines as there was no legal provision for the practice.
“If your vehicle is taken away, your property rights are being violated because the vehicle cannot be taken away without justifiable reasons. One can seek recourse through acquiring a spoliation order on urgent basis at the courts so that they can repossess their car. They can go further to sue the police because their right to property would have been violated,” Masiye said.
Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights said in order for the traffic fines to be implemented fairly and in good faith, the Zimbabwe Republic Police, Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development and other relevant authorities should embark on a nationwide awareness campaign regarding the requirements of the 2015 regulations and other legislation relating to traffic offences, such as the Road Traffic Act and the Road Traffic (Safety-belt) Regulations, 1987.
“Most importantly, in imposing traffic fines, Zimbabwe Republic Police officers must exercise their duties in the interests of public safety and administrative justice, refraining from imposing unlawful spot fines and rejecting all forms of bribery and corruption,”

2. Zimbabwe has 16 official languages.
English is the main language used in the education and judiciary systems. The Bantu languages Shona and Ndebele are the principal indigenous languages of Zimbabwe. Shona is spoken by 70% of the population, Ndebele by 20%. Otherminority Bantu languages include Venda, Tsonga, Shangaan, Kalanga, Sotho, Ndau and Nambya.Less than 2.5%, mainly the white and "coloured" (mixed race) minorities, consider English their native language Shona has a rich oral tradition, which was incorporated into the first Shona novel, Feso by Solomon Mutswairo, published in 1956. English is spoken primarily in the cities, but less so in rural areas. Radio and television news now broadcast in Shona, Sindebele and English.

3. The largest waterfall in the world victorial falls is found in Zimbabwe.
Located on the zambezi river, it is the world’s only waterfall that is wider than a kilometer and has a height of more than hundred meters. One of the greatest attractions in Africa and one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world, Victoria Falls is located on the Zambezi River, the fourth largest river in Africa, which is also defining the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
