Crocodiles may be one of the deadliest hunters in the animal kingdom, but in a small village in Burkina Faso it is not unusual to see someone sitting atop one of the fearsome reptiles. People in Bazoule, around 30 kilometres (20 miles) from the capital Ouagadougou, share their pond with more than 100 of the razor-toothed creatures.

The marketing of pedigree dogs is not a common activity in Burkina Faso. Paulin COMPAORÉ chose to venture into this business despite the prejudices of his friends. Today, he is the pride of his family.

"It's with the money from the sale of dogs that I paid for my schooling in high school. I paid in cash. My father was so happy when he found out that it was the money from the dogs' sale that I took to pay for my schooling," says Paulin.

La commercialisation de chien de race, une activité peu commune au Burkina Faso. Paulin COMPAORÉ choisi de mener cette activité malgré les préjugés de ses amis. Aujourd’hui, il fait la fierté de sa famille.

« C’est avec l’argent de la vente des chiens que j’ai payé ma scolarité en 1re cette année. Je suis arrivé, j’ai payé le cash en même temps. Mon père était tellement content quand il a su que c’est l’argent des chiens j’ai pris pour payer ma scolarité », dit Paulin.
