Hisham was brought along to the SPANA Casablanca centre after developing a serious lameness. His owner, Wahib, noticed he was starting to limp very badly and brought him to the SPANA Casablanca centre. It was a serious condition that would test the skills of any vet.

Morocull is a 10 minute documentary shot in Morocco by London and kent based multimedia artist Russell Scott-Skinner. The documentary explores the feral animal population in Morocco, the government's current methods of control and the lives of those people involved in trying to protect the animals and find a better solution to the problem.

Russell Scott-Skinner is a kent and London based multimedia artist who has been working professionally within the visual and creative sector for over 12 years. His work has featured on the BBC, been used in the run up to the London Olympics and also exhibited in numerous art, design and photography shows. Including a solo exhibition on London’s Embankment and council funded gallery space. His commercial design, photography and video production work have taken him to Barcelona and all across the Uk and to Morocco. Over the last four years Russell has been back and forth to Morocco for both leisure and work. As someone raised by an english veterinary surgeon he wanted to help provide a visual illustration for the questions that many visitors have about the country, it's culture and its difficulty in treating and dealing with the growing feral animal population.

Our story:
We truly never thought we’d be in a position to ask for help…

As animal lovers living in Marrakech (Morocco), it is impossible to turn a blind eye when an abused, lost, scared or hungry animal come our way. For years and up until now, our family had been our everlasting miracle (Kinda, Dina and Laysa) to ensure every one of the animals we care for is fed and safe.

But then Covid struck… GiGi (our mum who is at the root of our mission to help animals) lost her job in the hospitality industry and suddenly we (GiGi and Safia, mother and daughter) found ourselves struggling in Marrakech to nourish, treat and care for our 54 rescued animals that are part of our household and for the 30 or so that we feed on the streets.

For a whole year now (2021-2022), every month has been challenging, even with our very precious family support. Every month has brought with it a financial miracle, an ex-client calling unexpectedly and sending a substantial sum, a friend reaching out to help, an ex-boss generously paying for their food, we are so grateful to have managed so far, more or less.
Today however, despite the consistency of our family's support we have run out of options to feed everyone… Please help us keep them safe and sound…and well fed :-) !

A Moroccan snake charmer Abdallah and his nephew Abbas go to the desert of Morocco in search of the venomous reptiles. Not even the deadliest snakes can make the two flinch, for the two men adore these reptiles.

They tame the snakes they capture, and put them on display at Jemaa el-Fnaa square to earn a living while sharing the marvels of snakes with the passersby of Moroccan streets.
