The Annual Hotelier Summit, Africa – Morocco is a deal initiative platform put together to bring together investors, property owners, developers, suppliers and other important stakeholders of the hospitality landscape.

The aim of the summit is to provide major buyers and sellers of the hospitality industry a platform to discuss projects that will help build a richer, better north Africa.

The summit is scheduled to take place in Mövenpick Hotel Mansour Eddahbi, Marrakech, from 17, 18 and 19 October 2018.

WHY YOU SHOULD INVEST IN THE NORTH AFRICAN HOSPITALITY MARKET?
1. The Middle East has been seeing a significant uptick in investment activity from major investors and developers looking to boost their portfolios in key travel destinations, including Morocco and Egypt in North Africa.

2. In Africa’s construction pipeline, Nigeria has the most hotels under construction, totaling 38 projects with 6,561 guestrooms. Ethiopia has the second largest pipeline with 30 projects and 5,319 guestrooms. Morocco follows Ethiopia close behind with 29 hotel projects and 4,315 guestrooms.

3. Algeria, much like the UAE, is courting tourism and hotel investment to compensate for falling oil revenue—and global companies are taking note.

4. The Algerian government’s National Tourism Development plan intends to attract more foreign visitors to the country by 2027, bringing the total to 4.4 million from 2.7 million last year. The government has committed to developing the infrastructure needed to support this goal, which has become more pressing as the oil price wavers. In December, the minister of tourism, Hacène Mermouri, said that the ministry had approved 1,812 new hotel projects as part of a plan to bring the country’s capacity from 100,000 guestrooms to 240,000. Of those projects, the minister said that 582 rooms were already under construction.

5. The Hilton Alger is due to reopen later this year after a renovation. “Last year we established a permanent Development resource in Casablanca to help us focus our efforts to grow in North Africa,” Feras Hasbini, development director for the Middle East & North Africa at Hilton, said. “We believe that there is definitely potential for more hotels in Algeria, we are actively looking at opportunities in the market and are interested in looking at more possibilities to add to our existing Hilton Algiers.

I been in Morocco many times few years back to meet the family of my wife. I was amaze and surprise how beautiful it is. The culture was totally different compare to Asian Culture and I need to adjust myself in the food that they serve, but I like the Tajin, one of their specialty. I can't imagine the places where I saw from the Movies especially Ancient Times, you will see it personally here in different places. They have this so called Moroccan Hollywood which located in Ouarzazate. I love the most was Ifrane, you can't even feel that you are in Arab Country. This place is the Europe ambience of Morocco with snow fall on winter season. Marrakech is the most touristic place and need to experience the Arab modern structures of Riads, the old time apartments of Morocco. They have 4 seasons, Summer, Winter, Spring and Autumn. I have a great time with my family and I will come back soon for my next project.
