<br>•1 cup | 150g of plain flour
<br>•2 medium eggs
<br>•½ cup | 125 mls of evaporated milk (Peak or Carnation are common in Nigeria)
<br>•2 tablespoons of margarine
<br>•1 cup | 250 mls of water
<br>•¼ teaspoon of salt
<br>•6 teaspoons of sugar (or to taste)
<br>•Ground Chilli Pepper (to taste)
<br>•Vegetable oil
<br>

Nigerian donuts/doughnuts recipe
<br>Nigerian donuts/doughnuts ingredients
<br>Makes about 15 donuts
<br>450 g of plain flour
<br>2.5 tablespoons of dry yeast/15g fresh yeast
<br>3 tablespoons of plain flour(for the starter)
<br>5 tablespoons of warm water
<br>25g of melted butter
<br>1 egg
<br>1 cup of warm milk (about 220 ml)
<br>50 g of castor sugar
<br>1 teaspoon of salt
<br>
<br>Cooking directions for Nigerian Donuts(doughnuts)
<br>-In a bow, add the yeast and add 2 tablespoonful of flour, add a little water and mix. Leave for about 45 minutes to rise and begin to foam small bubbles in it.
<br>
<br>-Into another bowl, add the remaining flour, add sugar and salt. Mix well
<br>
<br>-Now add the egg , warm milk,melted butter and the yeast batter. Mix thoroughly for about 10 minutes, then fold the batter into a ball, place in a greased bowl and cover with a clean napkin or nylon.Tilt to one side and leave for about 1 hour until the dough doubles in size.
<br>
<br>-Well the dough has risen,place on a floured table and flatten with your palms . Cut into doughnuts rounds. You can use biscuit cutter or the wide top of a glass cup.
<br>
<br>-Now fry the donuts in your favorite cooking oil at 180 C for 2 minutes on each side. If you want very large donuts, you can leave it to rise for another 20 miutes before frying. Transfer into a sieve , lined with paper towels, to absorb excess oil.
<br>
<br>-Now roll the donuts in sugar..if you desire and Enjoy.
