A theoretical power plant that may help in coping with water shortage during droughts or dry seasons.

Things To Consider:
1. Calculate the number of blades necessary to run the specific kind of generator to be used and put only the necessary number per generator or just add a reasonable allowance to avoid wasting time, money, and effort.
2. If it is impossible, or less efficient, to run a big mega-generator by installing too many interlinked turbines working as one, use smaller units of production or smaller generators as long as they are sufficient to keep the water pumps and/or other things running; or consider using smaller generators, increasing electricity generation by transformers, and collecting the electricity from the small units into a power station that can transform the electricity into an increased output.
3. Consider making (a) research/es to improve these things.
4. If there is often a problem of water shortage in a country, consider prioritizing the multiplication and maintenance of the power plants and the irrigation systems that also involve modular pumping of water from sea, river, reservoir, and/or other bodies of water in addition to irrigation system that use dam if applicable (If it is good to use seawater directly in irrigating crops, then there is no need to filter the seawater that goes to the crops or plants.). If there is always abundant water at all times, then the crops of the people and the grasses for the livestocks can grow; if the people can always plant their crops and have sufficient grasses for livestocks at all times, then there may always be harvest and livestock production; if there is always harvest and livestock production, then the people do not suffer and may have money by selling some of their products; if the people have money, then they can pay their taxes that may be used for further national development that prioritizes irrigation in the said country.
5. This kind of production of electricity is practical and can be easily installed by common villagers in the coastal areas or any windy place because it is similar to the simple principle involved in the situation of a truck with no fuel that endlessly runs down an "endless" hill and such truck is doing an engine brake that produces electricity for its headlights even the said truck has no any fuel. Thus, the common villagers in the coastal areas or any windy place can easily make a makeshift or improvised generator of electricity from wind force simply by getting joint gears of junked vehicles in junkshops, junked transmission gears, junked old generators as long as the parts that produce electricity are still working, junked thin sheets of iron for the "locked-in-their-frames" blades of the turbine, and other free or low-cost materials; and these free or low-cost materials may irrigate their crops even during the times of drought and/or give lights and other services in their village at all days.
6. Consider making gadgets that always pour fresh or non-salt water into the gear housings and all other heat-prone parts to prevent overheating that leads to damage.
7. VERY IMPORTANT: Consider using heavy-duty but light wheels to carry the weight of the turbine where all of the wheels are perpendicular to the respective frames and turn in a circular pattern; and the leverage is better if the wheels are closer to the pole/axis. This is the key for a large-scale production of electricity within only few square meters of space/terrain/yard in the windy place because this can make a gigantic turbine carried by strong but light-weight wheels.
9.The turbine needs braking system for safety and to facilitate maintenance.
10. Install skeleton towers that hold skeleton beams on top of each of the turbines with bearings that connect the pole of the turbine to the said skeleton beams for support (See http://www.YouFreeWeb.com/wind....turbinecarriedbywhee
_
Consider the formation of a permanent parliament-like body composed of scientists, engineers, technicians, doctors, philosophers, mathematicians, and other brilliant people to enable the country to build her own power plants, generators, motors to run water pumps, steelworks, heavy equipments, and other things.
In hurricane-prone places, consider facilitating the irrigation and planting vulnerable crops during dry seasons and planting sturdy or wind-elusive crops during hurricane seasons. Also, consider the use of the field for aquaculture (by big dikes) during the times of hurricanes.
_
Concerning the theoretical ship in the last part of this video, a skeleton deck can be installed on top of the wind turbines to facilitate another or more layers of wind turbines to run the ship. Also, each of the wind turbines may be covered by wire screen to prevent accident.

Air pollution causes millions of premature deaths and a host of illnesses in the world’s cities each year. This is especially true in sub-Saharan Africa, where sparse air pollution monitoring imparts high uncertainty to estimates of exposure and impact. Five hundred million African children live in areas with no reliable air quality monitoring.
This second session in our healthy cities webinar series will discuss some emerging efforts to rectify this large air pollution data gap using surface monitoring, remote sensing, and air quality modeling, with a focus on Nairobi. Speakers will also discuss solutions and pathways forward for reducing the health burden from air pollution in Africa.

Noon briefing by Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General.

Highlights:
- Security Council
- UN Relief and Works Agency For Palestine Refugees
- Yemen
- West Africa
- Afghanistan
- COVID-19/Thailand
- Senior Personnel Appointment
- Global Tobacco Trends Report
- International Day For Tolerance.

SECURITY COUNCIL
Speaking at a Security Council meeting on Preventive diplomacy, the Secretary-General said that he has consistently used his good offices — sometimes publicly, sometimes behind the scenes — to seek to defuse conflicts and advance peace.
He reiterated that his agenda of prevention calls for a surge in diplomacy for peace, as well as a better integration of prevention and risk-assessment across UN decision-making. This, the Secretary-General added, includes connecting the dots among all drivers of conflict — including poverty, inequalities, and climate change.
For the women and men of the UN, Mr. Guterres said, preventive diplomacy and development go hand-in-hand. But we also know that we must do far more to join-up our humanitarian, peace and development efforts.
This, he said, means working to end inequalities that deny entire groups of people access to civil and economic life and the levers of decision-making. And it means transforming our commitment to human rights from words to practice in every context.
For preventive diplomacy to succeed, the Secretary-General concluded, we need the full support of the Security Council, and of all Member States.

UN RELIEF AND WORKS AGENCY FOR PALESTINE REFUGEES
The Secretary-General spoke by video message to the Conference supporting the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which is taking place in Brussels.
The Secretary-General described how UNRWA has been playing a pivotal role in promoting regional stability and yet it continues to face an existential crisis.
We need to protect UNRWA from being used as a political pawn, he said, and focus on its ability to carry out its General Assembly mandate and its unrelenting commitment to humanitarian principles and shared UN values. Yet he added that overwhelming support for UNRWA is not adequately matched by sufficient funding for its operations.
The Secretary-General said that we need urgent and decisive support to maintain UNRWA’s ability to operate this year. He said that UNRWA’s essential health, education and services must not be interrupted.
And he urged Member States to step up longer-term commitments and solidarity and match the generosity of the countries that host Palestine refugees.

YEMEN
The UN Mission in support of the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) said yesterday that the withdrawal of the Joint Forces from Hudaydah City, Al Durayhimi, Bayt al Fqih and parts of At Tuhayta districts and their subsequent takeover by Ansar Allah forces represents a major shift in the frontlines in the Hudaydah Agreement.
These events, the Mission said, warrant discussion between the parties of the Hudaydah Agreement, The Mission stands ready to facilitate those discussions within the framework of the Agreement.
The Mission further urges all parties to the conflict to uphold their obligations to protect civilians throughout the governorate, particularly in the south, where clashes have been reported.

Today we're launching the first episode of Live The African Dream Podcast.

Live The African Dream is a podcast inspired to gather the next generation of curious investors, entrepreneurs, and tech leaders to spark conversation around the topics they are passionate about. From building a business to raising money to the challenges and triumphs of being an African or Africa enthusiast on the continent and in the diaspora in today's world.

Whether running the show or working your way up the ladder, let's build something great. Tune in for exclusive interviews with seasoned investors, entrepreneurs, and rising stars who are changing the technology industry in Africa.

This Live The African Dream Podcast episode features Maxime Bayen, co-founder of Africa: The Big Deal.

We discussed the current market downturn and why Africa seems slightly more immune to the capital market prices faced in the US, Europe, and other regions.

The main two reasons why we are seeing this:

1. The magnitude of problems the continent's startups address is so enormous that even during a crisis, these problems are not going away because it's about giving access to people with primary needs.

2. When you look at the companies fundraising on the continent, historically, those companies have solid fundamentals to raise from VCs in Africa. You need to have strong financial traction and a lot of customers. It's challenging to raise if you don't have strong traction already.

We invite you to tune in and stream, Live The African Dream on all major streaming platforms to help you decisively craft a plan for bettering the community, tomorrow, and our global atmosphere.
