One secret to the bakery’s success has been its diversity of income streams. Along with consumer sales of bread and baked goods, they run a restaurant and café and sell wholesale to other local businesses. This range of offerings is a big reason they’ve been able to maintain their success even through unforeseen hardships.

Grace Wetzel, a junior at St. Lawrence University, explains the phenomenon known as the orgasm gap and explores the straight woman's sexual experience. Grace Wetzel is a junior at St. Lawrence University with a Psychology major, a Biology Minor, and a Gender & Sexuality Studies Minor. She is a member of the ODK Leadership Honor Society and of Psi Chi, the Honor Society in Psychology. She is a member of two dance groups on campus, Dance Ensemble and Graceful Movements, and is a house member of the Women's Resource Center. Grace has a passion for intersectional feminism and social justice. Her long-term dream is to change the stigmas and inequalities surrounding the female sexual experience. Topping pepper plants is a topic of much debate, with some growers saying it's a fantastic way to boost production, and others saying it's not necessary at all. So, who's right? As with most things in gardening, IT DEPENDS!

Pruning peppers removes top growth to promote more branching and bushiness. By doing this, you sacrifice your earliest peppers in favor of growing more vegetation and a sturdier plant, which can then lend itself to more flower and pepper production later on down the road.

I prefer to top lanky plants to bush them out myself, especially if I'm still early in the season with plenty of time to let those peppers produce. On larger peppers like bells or banana peppers, I let them be - it doesn't seem to do much besides slow down production.

Before starting K.O. Towing, Kenneth worked as a Journeyman Machinist and welder. When the shop he’d worked for went out of business, he took the opportunity to become his own boss and bought his first tow truck. He added the second just before the start of the pandemic, and has continued to grow over the past 2 years despite those added challenges.

Today, Kenneth shares his advice for how to start a tow truck business from the ground up. We’ll find out how much it costs to start a tow truck company and what kind of equipment you need before you start. Along with towing, his company offers roadside assistance and transportation services for customers, and Kenneth will share why it helps a tow truck business to include these options, and what systems and supplies you need to do so.

Rather than start with a business loan, Kenneth leveraged his personal credit to get started with a lease-to-own truck. We’ll hear why that was the best option for him, and other tips for starting a towing business with little to no money. He’ll also share how he connected with his first customers and established his reputation for quality service in the Tacoma area. As a 24/7 business, K.O. Towing needs reliable employees to function smoothly. We’ll find out how he hires and manages his staff to maintain consistent service quality.

Immigration looked very different before 1996, when President Bill Clinton signed the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA). The law was supposed to stop undocumented immigration by increasing enforcement and punishing people for being in the US undocumented. Instead, it incentivized people to stay in the US — and the undocumented population doubled.
