Tanzania's largest ethnic minority, the Indo-Tanzanian community has lived in the country for hundreds of years, some going back to even the Middle Ages. Many are descended from traders or indentured laborers from the state of Gujarat. The largest community is in Kisutu and Upanga in Dar es Salaam. Their history is complicated and sometimes tragic, but no one can deny they are Tanzanian.

Sierra Network For All That Matters Sierra Leone
The first settlers in the geographical space currently known as Angola were the San hunter-gatherers, after which the northern domains such as Ndongo and Kongo settled there. Located in southwestern Africa, the country derives its name, Angola; meaning “king” from Kimbundu, a Bantu language.
Portuguese colonists began trading in Angola in the 15th century before another settlement was established at Luanda, the country`s capital in the 16th century. Right from 1655, Angola became a Portuguese colony, and was a peaceful colony until the quest for independence began.
The Angolan War of Independence began on the 4th of February, 1961, and ended in 1974. The country gained independence a year after, on the 11th of November, 1975. Just a few months after independence, a civil war broke out in Angola and lasted until 2002. Angola is bordered by the Republic of the Congo to the far northwest, the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north and northeast, and by Zambia to the southeast. To the south is Namibia, and to the west is the Atlantic Ocean. With a population of over 32 million people, Angola has various ethnic groups, some of which are the Bantu, the Ovimbundu, the Kimbundu, and the Bakongo people. Among the country`s numerous ethnic groups, there are about 50 languages, however, Portuguese is the country`s official language. The most common religions in Angola are Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and traditional religions, however, it is highly populated with Christians.

The Comoro Islands or Comoros (Shikomori Komori; Arabic: جزر القمر, Juzur al-Qomor; French Les Comores) form an archipelago of volcanic islands situated off the south-east coast of Africa, to the east of Mozambique and north-west of Madagascar. The islet of Banc du Geyser and the Glorioso Islands are part of the archipelago. The islands are politically divided between Union of the Comoros (pop. 795,601) and two territories of France : the region of Mayotte (pop. 212,645) and the Glorioso Islands, a part of the Scattered Islands in the Indian Ocean, the 5th district of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comoro_Islands
In Comoros, activities have resumed at the port of Mutsamudu on the island of Anjouan, following its closure for work on April 17.
The closure which was interpreted more as a way on the part of Comorian authorities to obstruct the Wuambushu operation, for which it is opposed, aroused the anger of the Mahoran collectives as well as those who were not given access.

In Mozambique's Cabo Delgado province, authorities are grappling with a dire situation as over 70 children are reported missing in the aftermath of recent terrorist attacks. Many families have been separated during large migrations to neighbouring regions, with allegations that some have been kidnapped by Islamic State militants. The violence has escalated dramatically, leading to the displacement of 80,000 people since January, according to Médecins Sans Frontières. The children were among the thousands fleeing the Chiùre district to Nampula province in recent weeks. Stay informed as we closely follow this unfolding humanitarian crisis.

Newspapers talk over the new Movie Industry:
Sierra Leonean Movies Making Headway
By Aruna Turay, May 28, 2012,
It is now an open secret that, home made Sierra Leonean movies are gradually taking the lead to those of other African movies. A greater percentage of African film lovers are now appreciating Sierra Leonean movies to that of Nigerian or Ghanaian movies which has flooded the local market.
It could be recalled that, the film industry in Sierra Leone started at a period when a large percentage of Sierra Leoneans, especially women and young people were having greater interest in watching Nigerian or Ghanaian films.
The industry started booming some three years ago, when Sierra Leonean film makers started contracting foreign writers and directors to help them in putting their scripts together. When the first movies, including Blood Diamonds, Hawa, Aminata, among others, were introduced, Sierra Leoneans started growing appetite to watch them. Though some of these movies were of low quality, they managed to stand the test of time.
Despite this, a large percentage of Sierra Leoneans were still having their taste on Ghanaian and Nigerian movies. But with the coming onboard of talented local writers and directors, such as Jimmy B, Dr. Spencer, T.J. Cole, Michael Ibrahim Kamara, Sulaiman Bah, among others, in the industry with sophisticated cameras and equipments, the face of Sierra Leonean movies started growing rapidly. With most of the recently produced movies, like Dagadi, Beauty Cause, State Crime, Zina, Family Enemy, Lost Hope, and Zymat, among other movies, one can hardly tell the difference between local and foreign African films.
“Sierra Leonean films are very educative and have high ethics and morals that are suitable for all category viewers including children of all ages. They can not be compared to those from Nigeria and Ghana in which in most cases, have immoral scenes that are unfit for children’s view” said Dr. Spencer, a film maker adding of how they portray the country’s local traditions and culture. He called for promotion of such films.

The first day of President William Ruto’s development tour of Mt Kenya was marred by local politics pitting leaders in Kiambu County against each other. The president had to call the political class to order asking them to focus on their mandate as elected leaders and deliver services to the public even as he assured the country that the economic fortunes are changing for the better.
