00:00 Mauritania – Forced to be Fat
What if obesity was the most desired weight for women? That’s the case in the West African country of Mauritania where, instead of going on countless diets or hitting the gym, girls as young as six years old are being force-fed with older girls eating up to 16,000 calories a day. Sahar Zand visits nomad camps in the Sahara where girls are put in tents organized to fatten them up in readiness for marriage. And in a country that’s going through its worst drought in five years, she discovers in the capital, Nouakchott, a darker side to this practice where drugs used to fatten camels and pigs are being taken to make the women big and beautiful.
23:15 Censored Nicaragua
Nicaragua’s President Ortega has launched a crackdown on independent media in the country gripped by civil disruption and economic chaos. Sahar Zand meets the journalists risking a beating or worse to get their stories out and others who have decided the only way to survive is to flee.

A migrant boy with plastic bottles tied to himself arrived at the Spanish enclave of Ceuta after swimming across the Spain-Morocco border.
Footage showed soldiers talking to the visibly distressed boy from the shore before he ran onto El Tarajal beach and attempted to scale a wall of rocks.
Around two-thirds of the roughly 8,000 migrants who made it to the enclave - and who Spanish authorities said included unaccompanied children as young as seven - have been expelled, the interior ministry in Madrid said.

Why Does Lesotho Exist? (A Country In A Country )

The third installment of the Maletsuanyane attracted thousands of revellers to the Mountain Kingdom, officially kick-starting the season's festivities. The 3 days meat braai festival is still predominantly attracting more foreign tourists than locals from mainly South Africa, Botswana and eSwatini. From hiking, horse riding, camping and 4x4 off-roaders challenges, the event keeps growing bigger.

Why Does Lesotho Exist? Lesotho, also known as the Kingdom of Lesotho, is a small country without sea, located in southern Africa with total area of approximately 30,355 square kilometers With an estimated population of over 2 million people, Lesotho is one of the smallest countries on the African continent and boasts a rich cultural heritage, unique geography, and a fascinating history.
It is surrounded by South Africa and is entirely landlocked. The country's geography is characterized by its mountainous terrain, with the Maloti and Drakensberg mountain ranges dominating the landscape. The highest peak in Lesotho is Thabana Ntlenyana, which stands at 3,482 meters above sea level. Its mountainous terrain and unique location have contributed to the country's isolation and its ability to maintain its independence.

Expedition Africa 2022 Lesotho marks the 10th Adventure Racing world Series event held on the African continent. The Kingdom in the sky has been chosen for its boundless beauty, challenging terrain and warm people.

Lesotho has spectacular scenery and potential for eco-tourism. The country hosts the Roof of Africa motorcycle rally annually and has introduced other annual events such as Maletsunyane braai festival and Lesotho sky cycling event. Lesotho is home to the world’s longest commercial single-drop abseil and Sub-Saharan Africa’s only ski resort. In addition, Lesotho has good air and road connections with South Africa. South Africa draws large numbers of international tourists, creating an opportunity to attract side-trips to Lesotho.

It's Time to head out to the Kingdom in the Sky for the Kingdom enduro. This event is a 3 day enduro race held in the country of Lesotho, one of only 3 enclaved countries in the world.
We, as a group left for Lesotho around a week before the event started. Most of us were going to help out in some way, be it trail building, marking or helping to get things at base camp organised & ready for when the riders arrived, around a day or so before the event.
Over the next few videos, you will get to experience what I did, the drama, the work, the new friends & the wonderful riding in the Kingdom of Lesotho.

The farewell tour + Travel vlog is a video that showcases the events that led up to my departure from home in Lesotho going to school. In this video I introduce you my close friends Retsepile, Lereko, Montseng and my little sis Naleli. They had really kind words to say to me before I left. The video is also combined with a mini vlog of me actually leaving home going to Dubai and Istanbul. I was flying with Emirates so that allowed me to take small clips during the layovers. The video finishes with me in Lefke where I'm currently at for studies.
I hope you enjoyed the video..
