I sat still for several hours patiently waiting for these juvenile Lemon sharks to come closer and interact with me. When they eventually came close the slightest movement from me would scare them off. After circling me for ages they would eventually come closer and head butt me or whack me with their tails and on one occasion actually tried to test bite me to see if I was food. (I literally lost a hair follicle and that is all. It was not a successful or aggressive bite) Once they realised that I am not food or a threat they would approach closer and search for the source of the fish scent that is coming from a small piece of fish placed inside a perorated water bottle, then eventually a loose piece of fish placed directly in front of me. What is interesting is that if I picked up the bottle or the piece of fish the sharks would stay away. (In fact any movement from my arms would deter them) It was also interesting to see how much difficulty they had in pin pointing the exact location of the fish. The adult reef sharks I work with would zero in on a piece of fish instantly. As youngsters maybe they still need some practice. The reason that I am doing this is that I have not seen juvenile Lemon sharks in this area before and I really want to know them better and study them for my own personal knowledge. There are 4 individuals but only 2 or 3 come over at any one time. One has some marking/damage to the snout (The young female one that bit me) and she is my favorite. :) I could just sit here for hours watching these beautiful creatures swimming and interacting with me. I find them truly beautiful and mesmerizing. I have condensed some of the action into this clip but the reality is that most of the time they would just gently swim around me in a calm and relaxed fashion. Without the fish bait in the bottle they would simply stay away. I tried. They are very shy and hesitant creatures. This is not on a reef or in the ocean but an inland ocean hole surrounded by mangroves in a creek. I spend a lot of time with sharks so please do not attempt this yourself. Obviously I would not do this with adult lemon sharks! I am probably the first human they have seen.

For more details of our adventures in the the Comoros Islands, see our blog http://www.undervisionpro.com. Please like and subscribe to our page if you enjoyed the video!

We have compiled the most magical moments from our recent trip to the Comoros Islands in this video including Moheli and Moroni. We had a wonderful time in these magical islands, swimming with manta rays, turtles and dolphins. We started out trip in Moheli at Laka Lodge which we would highly recommend. Although we didn't see the bounty of baby Humpback whales that we had hoped to see, we had so many amazing experiences with wildlife on the Comoros islands. There were friendly lemurs, massive flying foxes, gorgeous tropical birds on land and majestic manta rays, turtles and beautiful reef fish in the water. It really was a wildlife lovers paradise.

We ended our trip in Moroni, in Grand Comoros, where we full-filled our dream of actually joining a pod of dolphins - that's right, swimming with dolphins for the second time this year!

We show you the best places to stay in Comoros, Moheli and Moroni, where to find the best wildlife in the Comoros Islands, where you can swim with wild dolphins in Moroni, where you can swim with turtles and manta rays in Moheli and the overall best places to see nature in Comoros, Moheli and Moroni.

Thank you so much to our supporter, Insta360 (https://www.insta360.com). Most of the underwater footage was filmed on this camera and we absolutely love it! Thank you also to our absolute favourite underwater brand Darkfin gloves (https://www.darkfingloves.com). We swear by these gloves for batting away jellyfish and giving an extra push when freediving!

🎥 PREVIOUS EPISODE: https://youtu.be/qUL4FTWXad0

Komodo dragons are the largest lizards in the world, on average they weigh about 150 pounds and can reach lengths of up to 10 feet, these powerful predators rely mainly on their sense of smell to hunt. Under the gums they have 60 hidden sharp teeth that can reach up to 1 inch. Another thing that is unique is that the dragon’s mouth venom rapidly lowers blood pressure, accelerated blood loss and sends the victim to a shock state, making him too weak to attack back. In this venom, some compounds that reduce blood pressure are just as powerful as those found in the world's most venomous snake, Australia's inland Taipan. So Komodo Dragons are considered apex predators in their habitat and there is no animal that can confront them there, in some Indonesian islands. However compared to other animals around the world, these dragons would be unbeatable also and only a few would be able to challenge this beast.
