Rwandan forces have helped Mozambique's army recapture the key northern port of Mocimboa da Praia from an armed group.
Known locally as al-Shabab, the rebels used the port to launch a series of attacks across the oil and mineral-rich province of Cabo Delgado.
Thousands of people have been killed and hundreds of thousands displaced in the past four years because of these attacks.

The Mozambican Renamo rebel group has threatened to disrupt the country's local elections on Wednesday. There has already been violence and the situation has become so tense that the army has to escort motorists in Renamo strongholds so they won't be attacked. After a deadly earthquake claims over 2,000 lives, Morocco proclaims a 3-day national mourning period. 9 September, RABAT (Xinhua) Over 1,000 people were killed and more than 1,200 were injured in a terrible earthquake that rattled the kingdom late on Friday night, prompting Morocco to declare three days of national mourning.

The mountain village of Imi N’Tala, near the epicentre of the earthquake in Morocco on Friday, was rocked by aftershocks on Wednesday.
It sent rescue workers, villagers and journalists running through the rubble.
Nearly 3,000 people are known to have died in the earthquake.
