Independence Square in Ghana, a Must See in Your Travel Plans l 4K
The Black Star square is also called Independence Square. It is located between the southern coastline of Accra and February 28th Road. It is usually open to the public if no events are taking place. I am quite sure that there is no other place in Ghana more photographed.
Kwame Nkrumah the father of Pan Africanism spearheaded Ghana's independence from colonial rule. He was the first president and the first prime minister of Ghana. He commissioned this great monument to commemorate Ghana's newfound independence from colonial rule in 1957. On March 6 of every year, the Independence Day parades are held there.
This video literally has no words in the English language. Only words in our native tongue. The ancestors were definitely present, libations were poured to welcome them. Of course, the hand woven kente cloth is wore along with the royal hand crafted glass beads, and the custom shoes made to befit royalty.
