A weekend outing from Lejeri Hydro Station to Madzeka hut with a large group of Mountain Club of Malawi members. And for some of us the objective was the summit of Nayawani South at 2,345m. A hard steep hike with a harder descent in the rain.

This is a Mountain Club of Malawi weekend outing to the Madzeka Hut.
And for some of us, a trek to the summit of Nayawani South.
It starts out in the Lujeri Tea Estates.and climbs steeply up to the Mulanje plateau.

It's hard work for us, but it's even harder for the many wood thieves stealing cedar up here.

And lots of ladder work on the upper stages. Then a forest wonderland.
