The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission says gunmen have attacked a passenger bus in the country's west, killing more than 30 civilians. The latest violence comes as the leader of Ethiopia's Tigray region admitted launching rockets into neighboring Eritrea. The UN says tens of thousands have already fled the fighting to Sudan and warns that the country might be embarking on a dangerous trajectory, increasing the risk of genocide and war crimes.

Buckingham Palace has declined a request to return the remains of an Ethiopian prince who came to be buried at Windsor Castle in the 19th Century.
Prince Alemayehu was taken to the UK aged just seven and arrived an orphan after his mother died on the journey.
Queen Victoria then took an interest in him and arranged for his education - and ultimately his burial when he died aged just 18.
But his family wants his remains to be sent back to Ethiopia.

President Bola Tinubu has met with the top management of Ethiopian Airlines to hold talks about settling disputes and issues affecting relations between Ethiopian Airlines and the Nigerian Government.
The delegation was led by the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Abubakar.
The management of the Ethiopian Airlines led by its group chief executive officer, Mesfin Tasew had raised a number of issues, which could affect its operations and relations with Nigeria and requested to have an audience with President Tinubu on the sidelines of the 37th session of the African Union Summit held in Addis Ababa.
The details of the meeting was not disclosed as both the Ethiopian Airlines authority and the Nigerian government insist it is meant to enhance the air service of Ethiopian Air in Nigeria.

Hundreds of protesters on Saturday clashed with police in Ethiopia's capital, Addis Ababa after campaigners called for nationwide protests against unfair distribution of wealth in the country.
Violence broke out as police tried to stop several hundred chanting protesters from accessing the historic Meskel square in downtown Addis Ababa.
