The political crisis in Niger is turning into a growing problem for neighbouring countries.
Among them, Algeria.
It's proposing a transitional government in Niger to help avoid military intervention by some of Niger's neighbours.
But leaders of the coup say their support is growing stronger and louder at home.
So will Niger welcome Algeria's plan?
And can sanctions force all parties to the negotiating table?

Pushing out French, and making English a priority...whilst keeping the use of Arabic. That's the grand plan dreamt up by Algeria's Higher Education Minister He wants to increase the use of English in correspondence and publications in universities and scientific research...to help Algeria's students open more doors in today's world. Tayeb Bouzid, Minister of Higher Education"For the time being, we're just talking about scientific publications. But these documents aren't enough and we have to go further and cover all areas of scientific research. If we don't study in English, there can be no future"3 weeks ago, the minister launched an online opinion poll - with the final results due to be published next month.Early results suggest that 94 percent of the students surveyed prefer English to French. Teachers say it would be a positive step forward, but one that will need to be structured.Meriem Djennadi, English Teacher"It's a good decision but it needs to be properly organised. Thing's won't change overnight The teaching of English should begin in primary schools. This will then help students when they reach university age"This decision comes amid ongoing anti-government protests.Several observors say the minister's reform is an attack on the long held use of the French language for political gain

Algeria's longest serving president, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, will not be seeking a fifth term following weeks of protests against his candidacy.
Rarely seen in public since suffering a stroke six years ago, Bouteflika, who was elected president in 1999, said on Monday that a government reshuffle would also take place soon.
The dramatic developments followed weeks of mass demonstrations against Bouteflika's plan to extend his 20-year rule in power.
Al Jazeera's Hashem Ahelbarra takes a look at Bouteflika's political life.

Last year, Algeria's protest movement toppled longtime leader Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
But protesters are still demanding change, because they say many of the old political elite are still in charge.
New president Abdelmadjid Tebboune has promised to address their complaints.
On Sunday, his government held a nationwide referrendum to approve changes to the constitution.
They include the introduction of presidential term limits, giving more powers to parliament and allowing the military to be deployed abroad.
But many Algerians say the changes don't go far enough.
So, how will it affect the balance of power?

In Algeria, long-serving president Abdel-aziz Bouteflika has announced he will not seek re-election. The move comes after weeks of street protests against his candidacy. Unlike some other leaders in North Africa, Bouteflika survived a wave of revolutions between 2010 and 2012. The ailing president now seems ready to pass Algeria's political future onto a younger generation. But some voters are yet to be convinced, as we hear in this report.
