The 6th SciCom Colloquium was presented by Dr Corlia Meyer, based on the paper entitled Framing COVID-19 in the South African news media: An analysis of 22 months of reporting. Co-authored by Meyer and Dr Francois van Schalkwyk, the colloquium discusses findings of how South African print media has framed Covid-19-related news stories during the first two years of the pandemic.
Dr Corlia Meyer is a postdoctoral research fellow and holds a PhD in Science and Technology Studies from Stellenbosch University. Her research looks at environmental communications, particularly at how environmental campaigns alter how society perceives environmental and other social issues.

Ghana, Au Ghana, la banque centrale a annoncé la réduction de 00 points de base de son taux directeur. Il est fixé désormais à 17%. Les autorités expliquent cette décision par la stabilisation de certains indices de l’économie notamment l’inflation et le taux de change. 16 US Senators describe China’s support as predatory infrastructure financing
President Cyril Ramaphosa said as of Monday night, the number of COVID-19 cases in South Africa were at 1,326 cases while the virus has claimed three lives so far.
In his address to the nation on Monday night, the president said the decision to place the country under lockdown was a difficult but necessary one to fight the spread of the virus.
