The Magoso School in Kibera, Nairobi’s biggest slum, offers education to children who usually don’t have access to it. In order to pay the different school fees, the head of the school organises an annual fashion show, with clothes she has made with the kids.
In this video, we show you how to make the Famous Poussin Chicken Kenya style! The Poussin Chicken is also known as Pili Pili Chicken (which means Chili Chicken) due to the chilies that make the base of the sauce. Poussin Chicken is a very famous dish in Kenya and it's capital Nairobi, and once you taste its exquisite flavour you will know just why! This dish is incomplete with the Famous Kenyan Poussin Sauce Recipe which elevates the Poussin Chicken to the next level.
To make the Poussin Chicken Kenya style recipe, you will need:
1 chicken cut into small pieces
1 tsp garlic powder
1 Kashmiri Chili powder (or Red Chili Powder if you would like it more spicy)
1 tsp paprika
2 tsp corn flour
2 tsp plain flour (maida or all purpose flour)
salt to taste
juice of half a lemon
1/4 tsp black pepper
oil for frying
For the Famous Kenyan Poussin Sauce Recipe, you will need:
50g butter (about 4 tbs)
2 tsp Kashmiri Red Chili Powder (or Red Chili Powder if you like it more spicy)
2 crushed garlic cloves
1 tsp paprika
2 tbs tomato puree
juice of half a lemon
salt to taste
1/4 tsp black pepper
This Poussin Chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and has the most amazing flavour from the Famous Kenyan Poussin Sauce! The butter, chilies and garlic in the sauce really give the Poussin Sauce such an incredible flavour. The Pili Pili chicken can be served with chips and a salad of your choice.
