Ever wanted to take a dive into the deepest parts of the ocean? Well, today you’re gonna have this opportunity! Now, how good are you at holding your breath? Not that good? Well not to worry. Hop on board of my submersible craft and join me in the voyage to the depths! Ready? Let’s dive!

The Mariana trench begins at about 19,700 ft deep. It’s both the least explored and the most fascinating area for the scientists and adventurers alike. The Challenger Deep is the bottom of the Mariana trench, and its depth is 35,853 ft. Few people have been here, and very little is known about it yet. But scientists aren’t going to stop, and there’s hope we’ll soon find out what secrets the depths of the ocean hold. Ready? Let’s dive!

SUMMARY:
- At 65 ft, there’s a whole new world opening before your eyes: shallow coral reefs are standing beautifully not far from the shore.
- 130 ft is the depth where we say goodbye even to recreational scuba divers — it’s the maximum allowed for them.
- At 230 ft we meet whale sharks — the largest known fish species, weighing up to 60 tons.
- And now we’re entering the dark part of the ocean: at 490 ft, just 1% of the light from the surface reaches us.
- Going deeper now, and at 1,640 ft you’re going to see the last of the blue whales — no, not really the last of them, I mean, that’s the deepest they can swim.
- At the depth of 2,723 ft we have reached the point where the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, would not even show its tip on the surface if it were put underwater.
- The giant squid inhabits the depths of 2,950 ft. Just imagine the creature with eyes the size of frisbees!
- The Midnight Zone. The pressure here is so huge that, if you somehow end up being here without a submersible, you’ll simply be crushed in a couple of seconds.
- 4,200 ft down below, and we see the ferocious great white sharks — these ultimate predators feel great at such a depth.
- See those huge nets? That’s because we’re now at the depth of 4,900 ft where the “catch-all” fishing method is used.
- At 6,000 ft, if we were in the Grand Canyon, we’d be sitting at its lowest and deepest point.
- Now, if we’re really careful, then at the depth of 6,600 ft, we’ll be able to see the black dragonfish — a nightmarish creature that dwells in the deep and dark parts of the ocean.
- At 7,400 ft we’ll be saying goodbye to sperm whales — this is the deepest point they can dive.
- At 15,000 ft, the monsters out of your worst nightmares pop up.
- The black swallower can swallow prey that’s twice its size!
- And now the deepest and darkest part of the ocean begins: we’re diving into the Mariana trench. Officially, it begins at about 19,700 ft deep.
- Going lower and deeper, you won’t see any other kind of fish or vertebrate animal whatsoever — the pressure is just too much for such creatures.

When I was in Kampala Uganda, I met with Dr. Davis Musinguzi, the co-founder of The Medical Concierge Group. The FIRST healthcare call center in Uganda. This call center is made up of doctors and pharmacists providing real time medical consultations and health information to Ugandans over social platforms like voice calls, Facebook, text messages sms, Twitter, Whatsapp, email, and Skype.

IE this is an amazing business that is solving real issues that Africans face in connecting to doctors.

From scrolls to codices to the books we know today, the Bible has taken different shapes and has been written with different techniques.

The Dead Sea Scrolls are the oldest biblical texts ever found. The discovery gave us important clues about the everyday lives of the people who recorded these stories more than 2,000 years ago.

Today, the search for more treasures continues. Are there additional manuscripts that might shed more light on the earliest versions of the Bible’s stories?

Climate change and rising sea levels mean the island nation of Kiribati in the South Pacific is at risk of disappearing into the sea.

But the island’s inhabitants aren’t giving up. They are doing what they can to save their island from inundation. Can COP23 help make a difference?

UN estimates indicate that Kiribati could disappear in just 30 or 40 years. That’s because the average elevation is less than two meters above sea level. And some of the knock-on effects of climate change have made the situation more difficult. Kiribati can hardly be surpassed in terms of charm and natural beauty. There are 33 atolls and one reef island – spread out over an area of 3.5 million square kilometers. All have white, sandy beaches and blue lagoons. Kiribati is the world’s largest state that consists exclusively of atolls. A local resident named Kaboua points to the empty, barren land around him and says, "There used to be a large village here with 70 families." But these days, this land is only accessible at low tide. At high tide, it's all under water. Kaboua says that sea levels are rising all the time, and swallowing up the land. That’s why many people here build walls made of stone and driftwood, or sand or rubbish. But these barriers won't stand up to the increasing number of storm surges. Others are trying to protect against coastal erosion by planting mangrove shrubs or small trees. But another local resident, Vasiti Tebamare, remains optimistic. She works for KiriCAN, an environmental organization. Vasiti says: "The industrialized countries -- the United States, China, and Europe -- use fossil fuels for their own ends. But what about us?" Kiribati's government has even bought land on an island in Fiji, so it can evacuate its people in an emergency. But Vasiti and most of the other residents don't want to leave.

This week, we take you to the Corinth Canal, the world’s deepest man-made waterway in Greece with walls soaring 79m tall and some areas as narrow as only 25m wide.

Engineering geologist, Haris Saraglou, inspects the canal to ensure it is stable for large ships like this 195m long cruise ship, the largest ship to ever attempt to cross the canal. Our unique aerial view allows us to witness this magnificent moment like you’ve never seen it before.

In this episode of Europe From Above season 2, aerial photography reveals the secrets of Greece, set in a vast landscape where myth and legend collide with the modern world. Flying cameras soar over Mount Olympus, the home of the gods, over daring projects to clear ocean waste and through the deepest canal in the world. We reveal a new perspective of world-famous icons, such as the Parthenon in Athens and the Tholos of Epidaurus, an ancient building with an underground secret. The thing about European History is that it tends to leak out of Europe. Europeans haven't been great at staying put in Europe. As human beings do, the people of Europe were very busy traveling around to trade, to spread religion, and in a lot of cases to try and conquer other people. In the 15th and 16th centuries, Europeans developed a bunch of tools and techniques that would allow them to travel around the world, in numbers and force heretofore unseen on the planet. And a lot of the results weren't great for the people who already lived in the places Europeans were "visiting."

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga - A hidden camera FOX 5 I-Team investigation takes the shine off some big promises made to Georgia homeowners about solar power.

With rising energy prices, you may be paying closer attention to those ubiquitous ads on social media:

"The government will cover the cost to install solar."

"Get paid to go solar!"

"Reduce or even eliminate your electric bill by using solar energy."

Amie and Nathan Tatro of Lafayette saw the same ads. So they signed a contract with Power Home Solar -- now Pink Energy -- to outfit their home with solar panels, a deal that cost $91,000 with monthly installments over 25 years.

"It’s not turned out to be what was promised," Amie admitted. "Almost everything he said turned out not to be true."

Julien argues how we see the World through cultural glasses. By changing the glasses you can change the way you interpret the World.

Julien is the founder of Mondå, a project that helps Norwegians benefit from cultural diversity while supporting talented foreigners in their efforts to adapt and connect with Norway. He is educated as an astronautical engineer and is currently completing a doctoral degree in Norway. He is originally from Canada and speaks English, Norwegian, French and Spanish. He has been active in higher education policy at the European level, at the national level in Norway and locally at different institutions. He became the first foreign board member of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Other positions include the Norwegian national research committee (UHR), the board of the national Norwegian doctoral organisation and the presidency of NTNU’s doctoral organisation.
