With a slightly different commentary this video showcases all that Malawi has to offer with its friendly people, breathing taking scenery and amazing wildlife.
The Warm Heart of Africa hosted the 4th edition of “Takulandirani” Malawi International Tourism Expo (MITE) held from 26th to 27th April 2023 at the Bingu Wa Mutharika International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.
The event returned after a two-year breather as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. It was expected to draw participants and buyers from Southern, East Africa and Malawi’s tourism source markets in Europe, Asia and North America. Exhibitors had a chance to network with buyers and bookers of the tourism products and services, establish business partnerships through business to business and speed networking sessions and showcase their destination, products and services.
Takulandirani also offers opportunities for patrons to acquire knowledge about different source markets, interact with travel media, meet other destinations and engage in well informed workshops. The return of the expo this year gave further impetus to Malawi’s recovery efforts of the sector.
Minister of Tourism, Vera Kamtukule, launched the event and as part of complementing it, she said her ministry has come up with an aggressive domestic tourism’s strategy enshrined in the Tourism Master Plan to allow Malawi citizens enjoy the experience of the country is offering in the tourism industry. Vice President Saulos Klaus Chilima and President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera also attended the event.

Vacation travel video about destination Malawi in Africa.
Malawi is the unknown Africa in the south-east of the Continent. A wild country between sea and highlands, a land of contrasts with amazing green mountains and high plateaus but most of all, Lake Malawi. In the north west and on the border with Zambia is the thousand square kilometre Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Reserve, home to more than two hundred elephants who, in small groups, visit the Kazuni Safari Camp on their way to the lake. In the Lake Kazuni area there are many hippos and crocodiles which although rarely seen from the shore can certainly be heard at night. The location of the small town of Nkhata Bay is quite spectacular, a large, sheltered bay, accessible via a steep slope. Small boats transport the local people to various locations so that they can buy and sell, as there are hardly any roads around the lake. A restless, colourful and vibrant harbour town and the northernmost point which famous explorer Dr. David Livingstone reached on his historic voyage of discovery. Cichlids, the living jewels of Lake Malawi, are highly sought after among aquatic fish enthusiasts, the brightly coloured males achieving the highest prices. Provided with a good supply of oxygen and a light sedative in the water, once a month the fish are taken to the airport. The craggy rock scenery of Lake Malawi was not always below water. Only when the southern section of the East African Rift Valley filled with water did it become home to cichlids. On the extreme south east coast on the border with Mozambique is Mount Mulanje, a huge mountain range that formed during volcanic activity more than a hundred and thirty million years ago. At the foot of the mountain scenery grows one of the world’s finest varieties of tea. The Maravi Kingdom eventually became an independent country, Malawi, the warm and beating heart of Africa!

This is a short video insight into my Nomadic Morocco Safari. I started joining Dad on his Moroccan Expeditions back in 2015 and very quickly fell in love with the country. A couple of years later I lead the first Nomadic Morocco Safari.
This adventure was inspired by the ancient trade routes that the camel caravans travelled to bring goods up to the North from Sub-Saharan Africa.
To embark on a trip into the mighty Sahara Desert on foot, accompanied by true Nomads and a caravan of camels to carry our camp is for those who are seeking to slow down and reconnect with themselves. Combining the raw nature of the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert with the flamboyancy of Marrakech captures the diversity of this beautiful nation.
PS. It's worth noting that not every itinerary is the same...when we chat, we decide.

#Morocco #Rabat #LaayouneBridge
Morocco is well known as a country with gorgeous scenery, amazing food, lovely people and of course the Sahara desert which takes roughly 30% of Africa's landscape. In recent times, Morocco intends to build a bridge that will be the first of its kind in Africa. A bridge is not a structure, but rather an idea, the concept of traversing great swaths of land or vast bodies of water to connect two distant sites and, in the process, shortening the distance between them. Nature was thought to have built the first bridges, which could have been as simple as a log strewn across a creek. Humans presumably built the first bridges out of wooden logs or planks, later stones, with a simple support and crossbeam configuration. Bridges were built before prehistoric people began to create even the most primitive shelters for themselves. Bridges were created by trees that had fallen acros lol mes the creek from bank to bank. The first bridge builders were a traveling tribe that purposefully fell a tree across a stream. Observing monkeys swinging from various vines led to the creation of bridges by joining parallel wires with some form of cross piece. Hand grips were later discovered, which led to the development of suspension bridges. Wood was eventually replaced by iron as a result of many improvements, and the Industrial Revolution introduced steel, which has a high tensile strength. For the construction of larger bridges to support huge loads, this replaced wrought iron, and later welded structural bridges of various designs were built. The Mohammed VI Bridge in Rabat, which is 950 meters long, now holds the title as Morocco's longest bridge.

I went to Marrakech, Morocco for four days for Elaine’s hen do! Come along and get some inspiration on things to do in Marrakech, and key places to eat and have a lovely time. We stayed in a beautiful riad in the middle of the Madina, and we used a concierge service which was free to secure all our bookings and excursions. We also had a driver too! We were also lucky enough to be out there during the World Cup 2022 and watched Morrocco vs Portugal - which then won!!
