In This Video, I Got a chance to visit Tumaini Festival in Malawi 2021 in Dzaleka refugee camp which is hosted by local refugees in Dzaleka Malawi wherein I had interaction with most famous dance form of The Mbakumba dance from Zimbabwe country in Malawi.
There are about 12 prominent traditional dances in Zimbabwe, namely Shangara, Mbira dance, Dinhe, Mbakumba, Muchongoyo, Jerusarema, Mhande, Isitschikitsha, Amabhiza, Ingquza, Chinyobera and Ngungu.
Dzaleka, Malawi's first refugee camp, is about 25 miles north of the capital Lilongwe. Built 25 years ago in response to a surge of people fleeing genocide and wars in Burundi, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Tumaini Festival was founded in 2014. It is an extraordinary example of a large-scale cultural event within a refugee camp, created and run by refugees in collaboration with the host community, for the benefit of both communities.

Will lived in Malawi as a gap year student before setting up the award winning Chibuku Shake Shake nightclub in Liverpool. Following Chibuku's success, he went on to create the Lake of Stars Festival, using the event to promote Malawian tourism and culture. Lake of Stars has since organized gigs in UK, a road-trip from Johannesburg, South Africa to Lake Malawi and has started more festivals in Malawi such as the Children's Future Festival and Lilongwe Short Film Festival.

Today our journey continues onward to this unique African island called Likoma Island. It is small, remote island in lake Malawi close to the Mozambique border. We depart early in the morning back to Zimbabwe, from Zambia, where we left our Sling 2 the day before. Join us on our 5+hour flight to Lilongwe (the capital of Malawi) and marvel at what we see when we arrive!
