For months vaccines have been landing in airports around Africa. Astra Zeneca, Sinopharm, Sinovac
and BioNTech-Pfizer. But Africa is at the back of the line, and it's not nearly enough. Less than 3% of Africans have been vaccinated. So far, every dose has been made outside the continent. But that could that be about to change. A vaccine factory in Senegal could be a game changer in Africa's fight against the coronavirus pandemic. In Dakar, the Pasteur Institute is preparing to produce a COVID-19 vaccine. It would be a first in Africa. Production is set to start in 2022, and not a moment too soon.

A record 132 teams will take part in this year’s event, an increase of 42 teams from the 90 which took part in the 2016 games in Eldoret.

The rise has been attributed to South Sudan and Tanzania sending more teams. Kenya will be defending the overall team title, and the week-long games will feature nine disciplines, which include football, rugby sevens and 15s rugby, athletics, and hockey. The Kenyan schools for the games are currently in a final training and coordination camp before departing for Uganda on Friday.

The African Board Gaming Convention is a pan-African event that brings many people together from all over Africa and beyond to play games, celebrate games, and spread the word about a growing, local gaming scene. Oluwafemi Olusanya (or Femi) joins the show to share his boundless enthusiasm for sharing games and spreading the word about this fifth installment of AB Con. At the time of recording, they were working on a stretch goal to get Eric Lang to make an appearance and help out local designers. Another interesting clip from TAP Season 3 Episode 17 but this time we just touch briefly on how hunters have taken non native species of exotic game animals and restored their populations to greater numbers than they currently exist in their natural habitat and the possibility of reintroducing them if need be. This is not the only way that hunting has played a role in the growing populations of animals however, especially in Africa. From 1970 to present day hunters took the South African wildlife population from five-hundred thousand to twenty-six million! The astronomical increase in head of wildlife is a direct result of the value that hunting puts on wildlife and the economic consequence of that money going back into conservation.
