Just how many African or "Black" countries are there worldwide, where are they located and what are their histories? The answer is actually quite complicated, so today we will be delving into just what the term "Black" means around the world when referring to individuals, and how it's rather difficult to classify any given country as a "Black nation."

We'll also be looking at the standpoint from a purely genetic point of view in order to see the varying ancestral makeups of these various countries, territories and regions. Thanks for watching!

Black and German: news anchor Jana Pareigis has spent her entire life being asked about her skin color and afro hair. What is it like to be Black in Germany? What needs to change?

In our documentary "Afro Germany", Pareigis travels through Germany to speak with other black Germans, including rap and hip hop artists and pro footballers, , and find out what their experiences of racism in Germany have been. "Where are you from?" Afro-German journalist Jana Pareigis has heard that question since her early childhood. And she’s not alone. Black people have been living in Germany for around 400 years, and today there are an estimated one million Germans with dark skin. But they still get asked the often latently racist question, "Where are you from?" Jana Pareigis is familiar with the undercurrents of racism in the western world. When she was a child, the Afro-German TV presenter also thought her skin color was a disadvantage. "When I was young, I wanted to be white," she says. Pareigis takes us on a trip through Germany from its colonial past up to the present day, visiting other Black Germans to talk about their experiences. They include German rapper and hip hop artist Samy Deluxe, pro footballer Gerald Asamoah and Theodor Michael, who lived as a Black man in the Third Reich. They talk about what it’s like to be Black in Germany.

“If I don’t, then who will?” asks the social entrepreneur.

“I’ve always gotten into trouble for trying to do good,” Leroy Mwasaru said, speaking at the 2018 Design Indaba Conference. “At least when you compare my age to the size of my ambitions.”

The youngest speaker to take the 2018 Design Indaba stage, the 20-year old Mwasaru admits to having always felt a sense of responsibility when it came to the issues troubling his community. Hailing from Kisumu County, Kenya, he has been using this intuitive drive to develop alternative sources of renewable energy for his local community and surrounding areas.

It’s vital work that has seen the young social entrepreneur be given coverage by the likes of CNN, The HuffPost, Forbes, UpWorthy, Grist, and more – and to think it all began as a high school project.

While Mwasaru was still a student at Kisumu County’s Maseno School, the faulty sewerage system of a newly built dormitory became a thorn in the side of the local community. Waste overflowed to nearby springs, poisoning the main source of water used by locals, causing an uproar against the school.

The school’s kitchen was also being fuelled by firewood, depleting the areas timber supply.

The young Mwasaru brought together a group of similarly solution-inclined classmates to begin building a bioreactor to remove this waste. Though their first prototype exploded, the device ultimately prevented the pollution of the surrounding natural resources and even presented a safe source of methane fuel, reducing the school’s reliance upon firewood.

The success of the project led Mwasaru to establish the social enterprise Greenpact at just 16-years old. Today, it offers clean, renewable biogas solutions, and is one of few companies pushing for Kenya’s adoption of clean energy, as well as for the greater continent of Africa achieving 100 percent renewable energy by the year 2050.

“Social entrepreneurship isn’t just about buying and selling services,” he told the Design Indaba audience, summing up his company's mission. “Social entrepreneurship, at the core of it, involves solving for the people not the enterprise.”

Mwasaru can be seen in this month’s issue of Forbes Africa, where he is featured in their 30 Under 30 list of future billionaires.

The United Kingdom is in the grips of a Crisis as GDP falls and prices rise. The combination of Brexit and Rising Market Prices has caused Inflation to Soar and resulted in 14 consecutive Interest Rate Rises. This is now causing major problems in the economy and as Inflation is at 6.7% and Interest Rates have risen to 5.25%. Birmingham City Council, the 3rd largest City in the UK, declared itself BANKRUPT in September and it has now been revealed that 30% of all Councils are facing BANKRUPTCY due to the HOUSING CRISIS which has left over 100,000 families HOMELESS. More Interest Rate Rises are likely and as the majority of mortgages are fixed for less than 5 years this is going to cause massive problems in the housing market. ★★ ABOUT US ★★

We, Jo and Leisa are twins. We are Jamaicans who now live in the UK.

We are both trained teachers, however we have since given up regular classroom teaching to pursue blogging and vlogging. Thankfully, we have still been able to teach through both those channels. And to be perfectly honest, we prefer teaching this way. No books and papers to mark and grade (we let you learn at your own pace), no senior management hoops to jump through (we like being our own boss anyway), and we can choose whenever we want to take a holiday and still be able to work whilst on holiday if we wish to.

We share a home together with three adult children.

Our passions include, crafting, traveling, cooking and sharing money saving tips with anyone who is willing to listen. We are by no means rich but we have learnt so much from growing up poor that we think we have the responsibility of sharing tips to help people spend their hard earned money wisely.

We have been privileged to share our tips on three series of a channel 4 television programme, Shop Smart Save Money, in BBC Good Food Magazine, and the Sun Newspaper. In addition, our blog and vlog always have some money-saving tip here and there.

We have a growing Facebook group of Penny Pinchers that you are welcome to join: https://www.facebook.com/groups/jolei...

We also dabble in real estate both here and in our home country, Jamaica.

We are fun-loving Christians and we do love the Lord.
