At least 14 killed were killed on Saturday night in a mass shooting at a tavern in Soweto township, Johannesburg. At least three more people are in critical condition after the shooting. The crisis at the Richards Bay Port Terminals has deepened, with the recent decision by Transnet to suspend coal loads to be processed at the port.
The decision to only process the cargo of trucks, whose shipping vessels have already been nominated for processing comes amid safety concerns and traffic congestion in Richards Bay and surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, truck drivers from Mpumalanga and North West say they're frustrated by a lack of communication between their employers and Transnet.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has officially opened the three-hundred-million rand Nelson Mandela cruise terminal in the Durban Port.

The project to design and build a new cruise line terminal in Durban began in 2019 to replace the goods shed. The event comes at the start of the 2023-2024 cruise season in South Africa.

This is expected to see 70 vessels docking in Durban. The President delivers the keynote address
