The secular party of Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki on Sunday withdrew its three ministers from the Islamist-led government, saying its demands for cabinet changes had not been met, a party official said.
The decision by Marzouki's Congress for the Republic Party deals a further blow to Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali's government, already reeling from last week's assassination of secular opposition leader Chokri Belaid.
"We have been saying for a week that if the foreign and justice ministers were not changed, we would withdraw from the government," party official Samir Ben Amor told Reuters.

A group of political parties in Tunisia is forming a coalition to oppose President Kais Saied.
The group says Saied has lost his legitimacy, accusing him of a coup.
Last week, the president announced he would rule by decree and ignore parts of the constitution.
That is after he sacked Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi and suspended parliament in July.
Saied says his actions were necessary to counter economic and political crises.

Tunisia’s president has issued a decree establishing a provisional Supreme Judiciary Council, effectively replacing the body he abolished and granting himself additional powers to control the country’s top judicial organisation.
The decree, published on the official gazette on Sunday, says the president can relieve judges who violate their official duties and object to the promotion or nomination of judges.
It also forbids judges from going on strike, a form of dissent that had been adopted following President Kais Saied’s move to dissolve the top judicial watchdog on February 6.

In Tunisia, 88-year-old Beji Caid Essebsi has been declared the winner of the presidential election. Essebsi is no stranger to Tunisian politics, and he pledged to bring stability to the country following years of turmoil.

Tunisia's government and the country's main union UGTT signed a deal boosting public sector salaries on Thursday, three months after a strike that paralysed the country. The agreement involves a 5% annual hike to public sector wages every year until 2025.
