The 2023 Africa Advancement Forum took place over the weekend in Lagos, Nigeria.

The 2023 Africa Advancement Forum facilitated essential discussions on the economic progress of Africa. It urges focus on innovative trade strategies and emphasizing the role of media and the creative industry, the forum addressed key aspects necessary for the continent's economic development.

As Africa continues to position itself as a vital player in the global economy, policies of government, collaborative efforts, and innovative approaches, will play a pivotal role in shaping a prosperous future for the continent.

African women of today are tenacious and diverse. Africa has produced female leaders such as Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Africa’s first democratically-elected woman president in Liberia, Meaza Ashenafi, the first female Chief Justice of Ethiopia, Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, Namibia, President Sahle-Work Zewde, Ethiopia

But despite this growth, equality is still far off, and progress on women’s participation in decision-making is too slow. Data from UN women shows that Only six countries have 50 percent or more women in parliament.
