What is rheumatoid arthritis?
Rheumatoid arthritis, is an autoimmune and inflammatory disease, which means that your immune system attacks healthy cells in your body by mistake. This leads to inflammation or painful swelling in the affected parts of the body.

Why is it important to manage rheumatoid arthritis?

Synovectomy
This Surgery is performed to remove the inflamed lining of the joint which is called synovium. It can help reduce pain and improve the joint's flexibility.
Tendon repair
Inflammation and joint damage may cause tendons around your joint to loosen or rupture. This can be repaired and the function of the joint can be restored
Joint fusion
When a joint replacement isn't an option then Surgical fusion of the joint may be recommended to stabilize or realign the joint and to relief pain.
Total joint replacement
During joint replacement surgery, your surgeon removes the damaged parts of your joint and inserts a prosthesis made of metal and plastic.
Physical or occupational therapy is advised to help keep your joints flexible.

Peanut also knows as Peanut is one of the top oil-seed crops grown in Asian countries. Peanut is widely grown in the tropics and subtropics, being important to both small and large commercial growers. Peanut is an annual herbaceous plant that may reach up to 50 cm height. Peanut belongs to the family of “Fabaceae” and genus of “Arachis”. India is the second largest producer of Peanuts next to China in Asia. Peanuts are used in culinary preparation by roasting, making peanut flour and extracting peanut oil. Peanuts are rich in essential nutrients. In a 100 grams serving of peanuts provide 550 calories and are an excellent source of several B vitamins, vitamin E, several dietary minerals, such as manganese, magnesium and phosphorus, and dietary fiber. Peanut seed contains about 40 to 45 % of oil and 25 % of protein. Peanut kernel is very easy digestible and the oil cake obtained afterthe extraction of the oil from Peanut is a valuable organic manure and animal feed. It contains 6 % ‘N’, 1 %phosphorus and 1% potash. Peanut is a good rotation crop which builds up the soil fertility by fixing atmospheric nitrogen through the root nodules. Peanut Farming is also an excellent cover crop especially .

Groundnut Farming (or peanut farming) is a very lucrative agro-business venture.
It guarantees a large return on investment, especially with the application of the right techniques.
Interestingly, one can cultivate groundnut in a wide range of environment.
However, it grows well in arid and semi-arid regions, requiring an optimum temperature of about 30oC.
Because of its numerous uses, groundnuts are in great demand and this opens an opportunity for interested investors to export the product.
Do you know that most quantities of groundnut harvested in African countries are consumed locally?
This implies that there is a readily available market for groundnut and its by-product both locally and internationally.
Uses of Groundnut
Groundnut is a popular source of food throughout the world, and for that reason, more and more people are going into this agro-business venture.
Here are some of the uses of groundnut that makes it popular.
Many farmers grow groundnut because of its nuts, oil, and its vegetative residue.
In many countries, people consume groundnut as peanut butter while many others crush and use it for the production of groundnut oil.
At the same time, some simply consume groundnuts as a confectionery snack, boiled, roasted, salted or in sweets.
In some African countries, the people use groundnuts to make special dishes like; peanut butter soup ‘nkatenkwan’ in Ghana, peanut cake (kuli-kuli) in Nigeria, and Mali meat stew ‘maafe’.
Harvesting in Peanut Farming :
Premature harvesting of Peanut pods lowers the yield, oil percent age, and quality of seeds. Delay in harvesting after physiological maturity can result in increased Aspergillus flavus infection, and aflatoxin contamination in pods/seeds, and many pods may be left in the soil due to weakening of pegs. The Spanish bunch varieties (nondormant types) start germinating if harvesting is delayed. Therefore, it is important to harvest at optimum maturity.
There are three ways of harvesting in Peanut Farming :
1. Apply sprinkler irrigation for an hour and manually pull the plants.
2. Provide a light surface irrigation 2 – 3 days before harvest a n d use a blade harrow that cuts the plant roots 1 2 – 1 5 cm below the soil surface. Then manually pull the plants.
3. When irrigation water is scarce, use a plow or tractor-driven digger to loosen the soil. Then manually remove the plants.
Note: Harvested plants should be stacked in the field for a few days for air and sun drying (on bright sunny days) before stripping the pods. Thereafter, pods are continuously dried to reach a moisture content of 6 – 6 % to avoid the development of aflatoxin caused by yellow mold (Aspergillus flavus).
Storage of Peanut:
After cleaning and grading, store the dry pods in gunny bags and stack them up to 10 bags high in separated stacks so that air freely circulates among them .

It is often praised for creating a warm, fussy experience filled with love, enjoyment and distortion of time and perception. This is the pitch, which might have convinced you to try it at some point in your life. Or maybe you have always been curious to do so.
That is where this video comes in. I will be covering the origin of MDMA, it’s effects, long term risks, symptoms of an overdose.

The origin of MDMA:
It was developed by a German pharmaceutical company in 1912. It was intended as a compound which could be used to synthesize medications to control bleeding. Although soon people started experimenting with it and found out it’s stimulant and psychedelic properties.
In the 80s and 90s MDMA started to becoming widely available on the street as a party drug.
Statistics:
Sinds then, the popularity of MDMA sky rocketed. A recent study found that about 20% of all Americans had used MDMA in the previous year. And about 1% of Americans aged 19-28 had used it in the last month.
How does it work?
MDMA works by increasing the release of the neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine and noradrenaline. It also blocks their re-absorption. Together, this leads to an increased concentration of these neurotransmitters in several pathways of your brain.
The "positive" effects:
This mechanism causes the short term effects you might associate with MDMA: an enhanced sense of pleasure, euphoria, more self-confidence, increased energy, feelings of peacefulness, acceptance, and empathy.
The "negative" effects:
Unfortunately using MDMA can also cause several adverse effects, like: Jaw clenching, teeth grinding, restlessness, insomnia, irritability, anxiety, sweating, thirst, nausea, impulsiveness, increased heart rate, rising body temperature and high blood pressure.
Withdrawal symptoms:
Among others: Irritability, depression, confusion, agression, muscle cramps, problems with sleep, anxiety, memory deficits, loss of attention, nausea, decreased appetite and decreased libido.
Overdose:
The risk of overdose is quite low. However, repeated use within a short time frame can increase this risk. In addition MDMA is prone to being “cut” with other illicit and potentially deadly chemicals. This further increases your risk on serious medical problems or an overdose.
The same is true for voluntarily combining MDMA with marijana, alcohol or other drugs.
Now pay attention: common symptoms for an overdose are: excessive thirst, heavy sweating, muscle cramping, shaking chills, little to no urine output, blurred vision, fainting and seizures.
Seek immediate medical help if you recognize these symptoms, as they can lead to severe liver damage, kidney failure, brain damage, heart failure and potentially death.

The Government led by Bah N'Daw a retired colonel major, has many issues on hand including dealing with regional insecurity and hundreds of thousands displaced by militants attacks and a combination of droughts and floods. How Rwanda is Becoming The Singapore of Africa.
Rwanda, formally the Republic of Rwanda, is a landlocked country in East Africa's Great Rift Valley, where the African Great Lakes region meets East Africa. Rwanda is bordered by Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and is located a few degrees south of the Equator. Rwanda's development is following the Singapore model, putting the country on the road to becoming a developed country. Rwanda's President, Paul Kagame, wants to make his country into a technology hub on par with Singapore. Mr. Kagame said in 1995 that Rwanda will follow Singapore's growth model, and the country has undergone significant changes since then. Rwanda is the only country in Sub-Saharan Africa that has come close to copying Singapore's winning formula. Rwanda's journey to democracy and economic progress, however, has been marred by serious human rights violations. Despite the fact that the world is becoming increasingly interconnected, worldwide awareness is still insufficient to defend human rights violations. LIBYA
The Secretary-General is appointing Ján Kubiš of Slovakia as his Special Envoy on Libya and Head of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).
The Secretary-General is grateful for the commitment and outstanding leadership of the Acting Special Representative Stephanie T. Williams of the United States in moving the political process forward in Libya.
Mr. Kubiš has served as the Special Coordinator for the UN Lebanon since 2019. He also led the UN mission in Iraq, and he brings with him many years of experience in diplomacy, foreign security policy, and international economic relations, both internationally and in at home in Slovakia.
Mr. Kubiš will take up his function in early February. Ms. Williams will continue as Acting Special Representative through January to ensure a smooth transition.
The Secretary-General commends the Advisory Committee of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum for its constructive discussions during its meeting in Geneva, that took place from the 13th to the 16th of January. The Secretary-General commends in particular the decisive role played by women representatives and the Southern members to forge a consensus on a recommended mechanism for the selection of the executive authority, in accordance with the Roadmap adopted in Tunis last November.
The Secretary-General calls on the members of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum to participate constructively in the vote on the selection mechanism and press ahead on the path to national elections on the 24th of December this year.
He reiterates the support of the UN to the Libyan people for their efforts to advance peace and stability.
Stephanie Williams also told the press on Saturday that she was pleased that the Advisory Committee members had risen to the occasion. They met their responsibility with a constructive spirit, cooperative efforts, and a great deal of patriotism, she said. She congratulated them on reaching an agreement on a recommended selection mechanism, which is being voted on today. They have taken a decisive step towards meeting the goals that were set in Tunis, she added.
And yesterday, on Sunday, Ms. Williams logged in to a virtual chat with 1,000 Libyans, the majority of whom hailed from all regions of the country.
CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC
In the Central African Republic, two United Nations peacekeepers lost their lives today.
This happened on the Bangassou-Gambo axis, after peacekeepers came under fire. More details will be available shortly, including a statement from the Secretary-General.
The Mission also reported in a statement that combatants have left the city of Bangassou, in Mbomou prefecture, on Friday and that UN peacekeepers are now fully in control of that city. The Mission also reports that it escorted a convoy of 30 commercial vehicles from Bangui to the border with Cameroon yesterday; that’s the first since the free movement of vehicles was halted on 19 December due to the security situation along that route.
And finally, the Constitutional Court in Bangui confirmed President Touadéra’s victory in the presidential elections, that were held on the 27th December. We expect a joint statement from the United Nations, the African Union, the Economic Community of Central African States and the European Union on this issue shortly.
MALI
Jean-Pierre Lacroix, the Head of Peace Operations, has arrived in Mali yesterday and will be there until Thursday.
You will have seen that the Secretary-General strongly condemned another attack against a UN convoy in the country. That attack took place on Friday, near Tessalit in the Kidal region. It resulted in the death of one Egyptian peacekeeper and serious injuries to another.
The Secretary-General expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family, as well as to the people and Government of Egypt. He wishes a speedy and full recovery to the injured peacekeeper.
He added that the UN will spare no efforts in supporting the Malian authorities in identifying and promptly bringing to justice the perpetrators of this heinous attack.
Between the events in the Central African Republic and Mali in the last week, the UN has lost 9 peacekeepers, killed in hostile incidents.

Check out this round of Conversing on Africa’s Peace, as we take you through the PSC session covering the months of November and December. Before the end of the year, the PSC addressed some of the key country-specific situations and thematic issues affecting peace and security on the continent:
- Key highlights for thematical session, the PSC held its very first session on the role of mercenaries and private military and defense companies in peace and security in Africa.
- In alignment with the New Agenda for Peace, the AU PSC convened with UN PBC to discuss prevention strategy, resource mobilization, and areas of collaboration between the PSC and PBC.
- As for country-specific issues, the PSC covered the situation in Sudan with the announcement to establish a High-Level Ad hoc Panel on Sudan.
- They also assessed the progress and challenges in the implementation the of the Revitalized Peace Agreement in South Sudan in light of upcoming elections.
- In the final weeks of Dec the PSC will also hold informal consultations and briefings on the countries in Political Transition: Guinea, Mali and Burkina Faso
