Would you visit Ghana?

Well I had the opportunity of visting Ghana with their top comedian Michael Blackson.

Ghana was one of the most refreshing countries ive ever visited, feeling a connection while touring and learning about the culture is something that is not taught in schools. These things you learn from the natives are eye opening and touching... i cried a few times while learning the history, tears of comfort and joy.

B A Tours Ghana made sure everything involving entertainment and nightlife experiences, was set before we arrived. Mainly because a majority of the parties are in HIGH demand!



TOP TIP: Sights and tours weren't very busy, but you should arrive as early as possible. If you are visiting Cape Coast from Accra, the journey is 3/4 hours tops, and there is a possibility you may experience some traffic on the route back, therefore. Early arrival would equal early departure. In a seperate video, Ive made a list of places to party at and eat, depending on your budget and taste.

Ensure you book your event tickets/ tables in advance because the last thing you want to do, is paid at the door. Some events are so popular that organisers scrap payment on the door, while others may allow you some grace if you arrive extra early, before a possible rush! Also, aim to book restaurant reservations well in advance as possible, December in Ghana is a hectic period, and a lot of the time, popular restaurants will be fully booked.

WEATHER
Ghana in December is incredibly humid, reaching temperatures as high as 32/34ºc in the daytime, so I would suggest loose-fitting clothing, fabrics like linen cotton. Loose dresses, shorts, and so on. The majority of restaurants and clubs are open-air, accompanied by industrial fans, but bear in mind you will feel the humidity, so a personal handheld fan is a must-have! (I took 2 on this trip, and as I expected, one broke, so I still had my backup fan)

TRANSPORT:
UBER & Bolt operate reliably in Accra. Fares range between GH₵ 35- 48 (£4.20 - £5.52) for an average 15-minute trip. Daytime is never an issue; however, some nights are hectic, and taxis are difficult to get, so another top tip is to book a trip on each app simultaneously, and whichever is arriving the soonest is the one you go for; it worked perfectly for us!

Dj Nickie Cartel played a set at the Black Star Square during the second episode of the West African Amapiano Tour 2021.The Black Star Square, also known as Independence Square, is a public square in Accra, Ghana, bordered by the Accra Sports Stadium, and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. The square often hosts the annual independence celebrations as well as other national events. It is currently the site for all civic and military parades in Ghana. It was completed in the year 1961, which coincided with the state visit of Queen Elizabeth's II to Ghana.

About Dj Nickie Cartel:
Dj Nickie Cartel Duku is an international DJ, Event Organizer, Fashion Enthusiast, and Music Producer. After graduating from the London College of Fashion, he worked as a fashion stylist assistant to Edward Enninful at I-D magazine and this experience birthed his fashion brand Duku by Design.

As a DJ and Producer, he has worked with international superstars like P. Diddy, Drake, Chris Brown, Timbaland, and the South African DJ, Black Coffee.

He was born in London and after years of working and living in Europe and America, his discovery and love for Amapiano, a South African type of music, that is a hybrid of deep house, jazz and lounge music characterized by synths, airy pads and wide and percussive basslines, brought him back to the African continent. Ghana, specifically, is where DJ Nickie chose to set up shop and explore Amapiano alongside the rich signature highlife sound of the Ghanaian people. In doing so, he has chosen to embark on a journey. A journey in which he tours the country to showcase the beautiful sites that the country is endowed with while taking his audience on a trip down history lane to evoke interest in understanding the difference between the country's past and its present.
Dj Nickie Cartel is doing this through a marriage of Amapiano and Highlife music. He hopes that this inspires people to see what the future holds for the Ghanaian people and the continent as a whole.

A dream while visiting Africa would have been to go on safari. However the closest place to do that was over a 10 hour drive. Mole National Park offers animal safari’s but because of the roads it takes too long to drive there. We hoped that it would be closer and while discussing this not being an option, our driver told us we would be able to see wild baboons on the Dodowa-Doyumu stretch to Akosombo from Accra. Being huge animal people, this made us quite excited.

As we drove there was a sand storm and then rain came from nowhere. Riley’s hopes of seeing the baboons who are known for hanging out along the side of the road was starting to fade. But suddenly what seemed to be a random goat walking down the street (something you see all day long) we realized it was actually a baboon! The rain had not scared them off and they were I. Their usual spot.

Excuse all the squealing and laughter, we were so amazed to be experiencing this. Up until this point we’re only seen cows, goats, chickens, lizards, and dogs.

A 4K UHD real time day travel from Sunyani to Wenchi via Abrefakrom Buoku in the Bono Region of Ghana.

From Sunyani Area 2 opposite the Vip Bus station on the JH Owusu Acheampong street , we started the journey and drove by the Volta River Authority, The Sunyani Wednesday Market, the Mosque, The Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saint , the SDA church to Penkwase traffic light.

Branching right onto the N12 Sunyani Techman Road, we passed infront of the Sunyani Regional Hospital, The Sacred Heart Parish and school to New Dormaa.

From New Dormaa on the N12, we drove and passed infront of the Liberation Baracks at Asuakwa to Kotokrom and Yawhima towns where the road construction works was ongoing.

Driving pass the Military shooting range to Kobedi in the Sunyani West Municpal, we headed to Chiraa town passing infront of the Chira Senior High school and the Roman and Methodist church buildings in the town.

From Chiraa , we drove to Nhyiaemu and Abrefakrom all in the Sunyani West Municipal to Buoku in the Wenchi Municipal.

Driving on the N12 Sunyani Wenchi road from Buoku town, we headed to Amoakrom town , Tromeso town, Britak Quarry ,Ayaayo town and Nkonsia town before merging onto the Techiman Wenchi road.

From Nkonsia town on the Techiman Wenchi road, we passed through Koase town, the Koase Senior High Technical school, Asuano town, Beposo town, Yoyoano town and Droboso town.

From Droboso to Wenchi , we passed infront of the Al faruq College of Education, Methodist University Nursing College, Wenchi Traditional council , Wenchi Police station , Jubilee Park Wenchi to the roundabout.

Branching right on the roundbout to the Wenchi Ofuman road, we drove for some few meters and ended the journey.
