I travelled through Brazilian jungles to move from Ghana to America - Ghanaian lady's scary journey

My name is Mickey... I am one of those ambitious African youths who thought building your dreams in Ghana and Africa as a whole was near impossible so migrated to UK in search of greener pastures.

But in 2019, with the launch of the Year of Return; an initiative by the government of Ghana intended to encourage African diasporas to come to Africa (specifically Ghana) to settle and invest in the continent; I was proved wrong...at least so it seemed on YouTube.

Finally, the hidden potentials of Ghana, the former Gold Coast and the gate way to Africa has been unearthed. But then I started making videos about Belize and the sort of messages and comments I've been receiving from local Ghanaians youths has filled my head with a lot of questions.

So in this video I share the scary story of a Ghanaian lady who trekked through Brazil and 11 countries to move from Ghana to America. This is taken for a long video I made delving into why the youth of Ghana are leaving to the west.

Every country has a story; so does its people. I get to travel and visit different parts of the world due to the nature of my work, so I take viewers with me in the form of vlogs to explore and tell beautiful stories of the people and the places that I am working.

Maki transitioned into a solo traveler for a day and went alone to Labadi Beach where she witnessed a turtle laying eggs. That was also the place where she met her favorite Nigerian YouTuber Mark Angel! And he invited her to YouTube Awards event! Isn't that just so insane?!

We also discussed what would be a reasonable budget for a 1-week and 1-month stay in Ghana, and Maki presented options on how to save money on food. She mentioned the cost of transportation as well. We also talked about how she announced to her family and her friends that she was going to Africa, and admitted her mom wasn't really happy about it at first, but she came to terms with it.

And what's the one thing she really doesn't like about Ghana? What was the biggest culture shock in Ghana for her? How typical morning looks like in Ghana? How's the weather? The 2022 edition of the Wines of South Africa (WoSA) wine tasting event in Ghana has been held in Accra, with a call on Ghanaian chocolate manufacturers to target export markets.
The wine-tasting event, hosted at Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, on Saturday, July 16, 2022, was organised by WoSA in collaboration with the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA).
Speaking to citinewsroom.com, the CEO of GEPA, Dr. Afua Asabea Asare, said the partnership is intended to promote both Ghana and South Africa as premium producers of chocolates and wine, respectively, while helping to boost intra-continental trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
