Why are global brands the heroes of African business stories? When Twitter opened its first African office in Ghana, it made headlines, even though Ghana has +500 tech companies that have a story to tell. And why is there so little written about young people in business in the continent? 70% of sub-Saharan Africa is under the age of 30, yet they were only mentioned in 8.1% of business stories in 2021.

Worth a conversation? We think so.

The aim of this session, supported by GET.invest, is to discuss the role that green hydrogen can play to enhance the renewable-based electrification trend in Africa. Green hydrogen can play a fundamental role in the continent’s energy transition – not only by allowing more variable renewable energy integration but also by strengthening energy independence while creating jobs and accelerating the fight against climate change, which all are very relevant aspects in the African context. This session will explore how this potential can be realized and how the EU’s Green Deal Diplomacy can contribute to this endeavor.

The White House has turned its focus to international affairs this week. It is hosting a summit with dozens of African countries and keeping an eye on the war in Ukraine. The 3 day US-Africa Leaders Summit officially begins on Tuesday. It is the biggest global gathering in Washington DC since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and there are a lot of points to discuss, including attacks on religious freedom. The White House says this week's summit will emphasize everything from business and health to peace and security. President Joe Biden also supports adding the African Union as a permanent member of the influential Group of 20, otherwise called the G20. Still, there are deep concerns on the continent, including problems with Nigeria. The Alliance Defending Freedom wants it listed as a country of concern due to Christian persecution. Sean Nelson, attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom, says "Nigeria is one of those countries where we're seeing a lot of really terrible violations of religious freedom... Just last year, there were over 4,650 Christians who were killed in Nigeria for their faith. That's more than Christians killed in all of the other countries combined." White House Correspondent, Owen Jensen reports.

Sometimes they'll include recommendations for other related newsletters or services we offer. Our Privacy Notice explains more about how we use your data, and your rights. No unusual symptoms have yet been associated with the variant as of 26 November 2021, and, as with other variants, some individuals are asymptomatic. Angelique Coetzee, chair of the South African Medical Association, said she had first encountered the variant in patients who had fatigue, aches and pains, but no cough or change in sense of smell or taste.

Fergus Walsh wrote, "South Africa has a young population and it is encouraging that doctors there are reporting that Omicron is causing mild symptoms with no increase in hospital admissions. But we need to see what happens when the variant moves into older age groups who are the most vulnerable to Covid." However, in an update on the variant, the World Health Organization stated "Preliminary data suggests that there are increasing rates of hospitalization in South Africa", even if it has not been determined that this is attributed to this specific variant.

1. Would it be fair to say without Sub Saharan Africa the industrialized countries of the world would not have been able to build their countries or fill their coffers?

2. Would it also be fair to say that industrialized nations are doing everything in their power to insure Africa never climbs herself out of the hole that advanced countries have dug for her?

3. Some economists proudly boast that for their nations to flourish
AFRICA MUST STAY IMPOVERISHED

4. Would you agree that certain measured have been put in place to keep Africa impoverished like:

a. Economic structures
b. Global structures
c. Economic Ideologies taught in schools of higher learning?

5. At the end of the day it doesn’t really manner which industrialized nation is leading the charge, the plan is unilaterally the same
KEEP AFRICA IMPOVERISHED.

6. Various economic structures have been put in place to keep Africa in check. Like economic aid that comes with plenty of
strings attached.

This aid usually comes in the form of
a. MONEY
b. GUNS
c. POWER

And it’s only duty is to
KEEP REPRESSIVE REGIMES IN POWER
by any means necessary

Sometimes economic aid is geared towards infrastructure,
but just enough to get the raw materials to the port for transport to he world.

7. Global structures have also been put in place like the IMF,
whose sole job is to lend money to countries that produce raw materials to in-debt them.

Once the money has been lent, the IMF operates like Charlotte’s web, they are trapped, and no matter how they try that are stuck in her web.

8. This is Economic Warfare at its best. These policies help to keep a “stronghold on Africa” while destroying a countries self sufficiency.

9. At the end of the day, the world needs RAW MATERIALS, and they need them at bargain basement prices.

10. Industrialized nations will never allow Africa to stop producing raw materials without a big confrontation.

11. Colleges and universities are also culpable because they constantly instill in their students minds that Africa’s only role in the world is to be producers of raw materials and nothing else.

And these schools of higher learning always seem to blame the victims for their victimization.

Based on the idea that Africans “ARE SOME HOW LESS THAN
EQUAL”. And that’s why they lack basic needs like food, clothing, and shelter.

12 Would you agree that the foundation of these polices is to increase Africa’s dependency on other industrialized nations?

13 Sub Saharan Africa exports tons of raw materials to industrialized nations.

But the GLOBAL TRADE VALUE is less than 5%. Sub Saharan Africa is getting pennies on the dollars for these valuable raw materials.

14 The problem is Africa doesn’t manufacture much. Most of its much needed raw materials are sent abroad to be manufactured or refined elsewhere. Like:
a. Crude oil
b. Tomatoes
c. Gold
d. Cocoa
and the list goes on and on.

Where have all the garments factories gone?

15 Africa has to realize that producing raw materials is not enough to build a nation. Without manufacturing, a country can not grow into a super power.

16 Producing agricultural goods is not enough.

17 Over the years the manufacturing rates in Africa has declined to under 20%. That sadly means, over 80% of our products are manufactured somewhere else.

18 And than most of our manufacturing facilities are connected to
mining, and nothing else.

19 Would you agree that industrialized nations do not want African Nations to become manufactures or refiners of their own raw materials and the world is trying to stop AFRICA FROM HAVING AN INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION?

20 A lot of nations were laughed at and scorned before they became industrialized nations, like Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and China. Now they are considered super powers because of their growth rate.

Well, this great transformation could not have happened without the raw materials they extracted from Africa.

21. Africa can reduce her dependency on the world by deciding to change her way of doing business with the world. By becoming
not only producers of raw materials but also manufacturers and refiners of her own raw materials.

And by stop taking aid from super powers that come with strings attached.

I highly recommend reading "Dahomey and the Dahomans" By Frederick Edwyn Forbes, an abolitionist

"The Commander-in-chief received the offer of my services, and at the same time a request from Mr. Duncan, the newly appointed Vice-Consul, that a naval officer should accompany him to the Court of Dahomey, and was pleased to confer on me the honour of the mission.

A great deal has been written on the state of the slave trade on the coast and at sea, together with the fate of the slaves in the Brazils. It is the object of the author, in giving publicity to the following Journals, to illustrate the dreadful slave hunts and ravages, the annihilations and exterminations, consequent on this trade ; and to bring prominently before the British public the sacred service they are rendering their fellow-men, in prosecuting their increasing efforts to allay those fearful horrors.

I had been often a day or two journeying into various parts of the interior of Africa, and had seen the state of the slave trade in its advanced systematic stage, and had considered the horrors of that division of it disgusting enough. I have visited bara- coons, and seen men so fearfully attenuated, from want and over-exercise in the march to the coast, as to render nature unable to support the frame. I have seen the hold of a slave ship, and the horrors consequent on diseases arising from the crowded state and want of wholesome food to alleviate the cravings of hunger and thirst. I have seen the slave toiling in South America, and known that the labour of these was a matter of calculation to the master, whether, by continual toil and short life, he would gain more money than by light work and protracted miserable existence. But what are all these to the tragic scenes that introduce the slaves to slavery ? A country living in peace with all around, and pursuing trade in the endeavour to become rich, is suddenly surrounded by a ruthless banditti; and how changed the scene ! The old would be rejected if brought to market, they are sacrificed ; the whole nation are transported, exterminated, their name to be forgotten, except in the annual festival of their conquerors, when sycophants call the names of vanquished countries to the remembrance of the victors...."

"Strange and contradictory as it may sound, this great nation is no nation, but a banditti"

Onitaset Kumat is a Pan-African Nationalist Strategist who focuses on adult education and critical analysis of ancestral wisdom. In "The Book of Power" he assembles over 100 of the most insightful passages in African Ourstory and expounds on each with deep philosophical weight. The overarching message is that Africans can again command the most Powerful nations in the world but not with the current rotation of misleaders and misguiders. Instead, Africans must Sankofa, retrieve the best of our past and use that information for the Work of our future. There is no other book like it. "The Book of Power" has a place beside "Message to the People" and "Ptah Htp" and in matters of Nation building and historical analysis, it has no contemporary equal. This is a book for those whose dreams are set on Black self-governance in a Black economic order where Black people are free to be themselves; and it's the only outline toward that goal. "The Book of Power" will be your resource for school building, university training, ancestral communion, leadership preparation, war planning and authentic nationalism. This is the textbook of the 21st century and you will be part of the solution to the ongoing race problems of the world.
