Following the killing of eleven people in Cape Verde on Tuesday night, at a telecommunications site at Monte Tchota near the Santiago Island, government officials have called on residents to remain calm.

Security forces have been deployed in the area and the Island's Minister of Internal Administration, Paulo Rocha, ruled out allegations that the incident was linked to drug trafficking.

Lesotho Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili's Democratic Congress, Deputy Prime minister Mothetjoa Metsing's Lesotho Congress for Democracy and other coalition parties have entered into a pact that will see the coalition working together during the upcoming elections on June 3 elections. The parties say this strategy will guarantee them a 50% plus 1 seat majority, and ensure that they retain power.
Many parties on the continent have, in recent times, opted for coalition politics which has led to opposition parties in the SADEC region winning elections.

The Masa people, also called Masana, Banana, or Yagoua are a Chadic ethnic group that is found in Cameroon and Chad. They originated from Yemen, then migrated to Egypt before moving to Sudan. This was during the years when they avoided being converted to Islam. The Masa people, over time, have been famous for fishing and rearing cattle. In the early 800's, the Masa people left Sudan to lake Chad. They lived near the Chad border, and were targets of slave traders from Tripoli during the Middle Eastern slave trade. In order to escape from the slave traders, many of the Masa people crossed the Chad river to the geographical space now known as Cameroon. This marked the origin of the Masa tribe in Cameroon. As if the struggles during the Middle Eastern slave trade weren't enough, the Masa people were victims of the transatlantic slave trade, as they were vulnerable to the slave traders who came from Nigeria. They, however, remain celebrated for never participating in the slave trade, as they never sold their fellow Masa into any form of slavery. They also tried hard to resist capture. With an estimated population of 266,000 to 469,000, the majority of the Masa people reside in Cameroon, with most of them speaking Masana, the language of the Masa people. While 45% of the population are Muslims, another 45% are Christians, among which 30% are Catholics or Protestants, while 15%  are Evangelical Christians. In recent years, the Masa people have been more active in livestock farming. There have been several battles between the Cameroonian and Chadian livestock farmers, leaving many wounded.
These battles were usually because some of the farmers were accused of stealing cows. These battles were also owing to the fact that the Masa people are passionate about their livestock. This reflects its importance in social relations and exchanges. For instance, livestock is used as bride price in Masa communities.

Although corporations have not always been concerned about wider social, political, and environmental issues that are not directly related to their financial bottom line, some scholars have observed that significant shifts are in the offing. Corporations, their brands, and corporate leaders are taking public stances on diverse social matters through various activist and advocacy campaigns.

Nowadays, big business and big-name CEOs carry protest signs, admonish politicians, and sometimes threaten economic reprisals against politicians and federal governments. Particularly, Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) now weigh in on issues that were once the preserve of politicians, non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, and other advocacy groups, including controversial issues such as same-sex marriage, race relations, environmental protection, and executive pay.

CEO activism may well signal a significant shift in corporate public relations, brand communications, and PR for social responsibility, since until relatively recently, most large companies have sought to remain apolitical. With the growing incidence of CEO activism, however, some PR firms have been setting up whole new service lines to guide corporations and their leaders in such campaigns. However, CEO activism is regarded as a “fairly new” expression of corporate social advocacy that is not adequately understood. Others see this form of corporate sociopolitical involvement as a “double-edged sword” because of its association with some rewards, but also significant risks.

Based on findings in sections of the literature, but also the presenter’s own empirical research, this webinar will discuss various themes related to CEO activism, including its motivations, clusters, and specific examples of issues, range of tactics, and outcomes produced.

Like other pasta, spaghetti is made of milled wheat, water, and sometimes enriched with vitamins and minerals. Italian spaghetti is typically made from durum-wheat semolina.[2] Usually the pasta is white because refined flour is used, but whole wheat flour may be added. Spaghettoni is a thicker form of spaghetti, while spaghettini is a thinner form. Capellini is a very thin spaghetti, sometimes known colloquially as "angel hair pasta", while Vermicelli refers to intermediate widths, varying between the United States and Italy.

Originally, spaghetti was notably long, but shorter lengths gained in popularity during the latter half of the 20th century and now it is most commonly available in 25–30 cm (10–12 in) lengths. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the last few days have seen a surge of violence in the territories of Masisi and Rutshuru in eastern North Kivu province. The clashes are pitting M23 rebels, who are backed by the Rwandan army, against the Congolese military and its allied militia groups. Local residents have reported hearing artillery fire.
