The country woke up to the shocking news about the cold-blooded assassination of rap artist Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes and his close business associate Tebello Motsoane in Durban - KwaZulu-Natal. Also yesterday, the government announced its shock and sadness at the sudden passing of Inkosi Zwelakhe Ndaba of Ntabamhlophe. Ndaba was reportedly gunned down by unknown assailants at his home near Estcourt in KZN. In another bloody day, at least four people have been fatally shot while two more have sustained gunshot wounds at KwaZakhele in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape today. Hichilema who chairs the bloc's organ on politics, defence and security appointed Mumba. The SADC troika held a virtual meeting to scrutinize the bloc's observer mission report that painted a bleak picture of the Zimbabwean elections. BRICS has formally announced the admission of Argentina, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates into the BRICS group of countries.

The six entrants will be joining the BRICS countries as full members from the 1st of January 2024. This is the most significant development out of the BRICS Summit which was held in South Africa this week.

The 38th Ordinary Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) kicked off in Windhoek, Namibia today.
SADC countries have committed to forge regional integration, promote democracy and economic development and ensure peace and stability.
