Jawhara dessert
2 cups (1⁄2 liter) whole milk
3/4 cup (150 grams) granulated white sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon orange blossom water
OTHER INGREDIENTS:
Warqa sheets (or substitute with phyllo dough)
Vegetable oil for frying
Roasted almonds (chopped)

Moroccan sweet rice briouats
makes about 12
ingredients:
1 spring roll pastry
2 cups arborio or rice pudding rice
2 cups milk or as I like it with condensed milk
cinnamon
2 tbsp. orange blossom water
Chopped almonds
for serving:
confectioners’ sugar for dusting

Thank you for coming and for your interest in this Royal Visit. It is hugely exciting to have TRH The Duke and Duchess of Sussex here for the next few days, and I am delighted to have this opportunity to showcase the vital roles that that girl's education and youth empowerment are playing in shaping Modern Morocco.

When we began planning for this visit, I had a very clear view in my mind of the story we wanted this visit to tell. It is the same story that we have been telling consistently at this Embassy about Morocco since my arrival here 20 months ago, and in a fortunate stroke of serendipity, we have found that this story fits with interests close to TRH's hearts. This official visit by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will highlight Morocco's focus on women's empowerment, girls' education, inclusivity, and the encouragement of social entrepreneurship.

From a girls education project in the High Atlas Mountains, to programmes working with children with disabilities and young people with mental health challenges, to meeting with young social entrepreneurs. TRH will be shown first hand the transformational impact of community based programmes and Morocco's changing social attitudes towards women.

So what is the story of this country?

The creation of the African Union began with a wave of optimism about Africa's future.

The orgnaisation now says peace and security have become more worrying than ever.

And it's working to address the issue. But the focus of this year's meeting are Africa's young people and their future.

But conflicts in South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Central African Republic are dominating the agenda.

Millions continue to flee from violence and natural disasters across the continent.

Poverty, the outbreak of disease and food shortages are all big issues. So, will the African Union be able to address these issues?

The Model 57 is a select-fire carbine made by Beretta around the .30 Carbine cartridge. It uses a newly designed magazine much more durable that the American M1/M2 Carbine magazines, and has a tilting bolt locking system coupled with a gas tappet style of piston. Many of the features are distinctly Beretta, like the left side ejection and right side charging handle (like on the Beretta 38 submachine gun family) and the dual triggers (front for semiauto; rear for full auto). Only one contract was made for these carbines, to Morocco in the early 1960s. This is probably because of the ready accessibility of surplus M1 and M2 Carbines for any western-affiliated nation interested in the cartridge.

Tattoos are gaining popularity among Morocco's youth.

Although tattoo studios are not legally recognized in Morocco, they have started emerging in major towns such as Rabat, Casablanca, and Marrakech.



Tattoos, on the other hand, continue to be a source of contention in the nation.



Those who want to be tattooed may encounter difficulties, as this Moroccan sociologist explains.



"There are still numerous religious, health, and societal reasons for Moroccans not to have tattoos. Despite this rejection, tattoo parlors are seeing an increase in attendance, although there is not complete freedom, since some young people get tattoos in secret. And then there are some that resist society despite being bullied ", Mustapha Yassine asserts.



Nabil Eddakhiri, a self-taught tattoo artist despite the fact that tattoos are prohibited in Islam, believes attitudes will shift and people will start viewing tattoos as art.






Businesses seem to be expanding despite the overall mood. In his own words, Nabil Eddakhiri says he sees between 5 and 10 customers a day.
